Jeez, Mr. T would have to be all out of milk to shed a tear like that.

Oh, and I was only talking down to the other guy because I get the impression that the majority of the vidya community are totally bricking their drawers when someone doesn't care much for a new game in the series. Brawl's a good game on its own merit, but the near non-existant load times and pace of Melee makes me prefer that game over Brawl. I never said I hated Brawl or thought of it to be unplayable competitively.

Brawl is better than Melee, and saying it isn't is just stupid. Brawl is merely an improvement. It's like saying Mario Tennis 64 is better than Mario Power Tennis. Although the former has the nostalgia factor, the latter is just the same game but with more stuff to make it more awesome. Aside from the shitty new Target Smash system, the game is Melee + more awesome.

Yeah, if the only thing you've ever cared about in video games is running through mazes and punching targets, Brawl is a terrible game. For everyone else, Brawls great.

Hey guys I just found an awesome trick to get infinite jumps! AND I CLAIM IT AS THE "RNFB SHELL JUMP"

It can be done with Peach, Sheik, or Marth (maybe more, haven't tried everyone)

It is assumed A is set to STANDARD ATTACK.

Heres how you do it.

Grab a green shell with peach (its the easiest to do with her)

While you are in the air, perform a fastfall by pushing down on the control stick, then quickly press A twice while still holding down. This will make you hop off the shell, getting a huge jump into the air, and grab the shell again in one quick motion. At this point, you can let go of your down direction. You can the do another hop off the shell, by performing the same trick: Fastfall, A-A.

For Sheik and Marth, You do nearly the same thing, but let go of down before hitting A a second time. If you hold down all the way through, they won't do it right.

What this is exactly doing, is your character is tossing the shell below them, jumping off of them just like any non-spinoff Mario game to date, and grabbing the shell instantly after triggering the jump.

If your character is moving backward too fast. (backward as in their back is facing the direction they are moving), they will not grab the shell, even the slightest movement might cause you to drop it.. Moving forward is more effective, but its still quite easy to do with no horizontal movement.

Can I just reiterate, this game has such a huge library of music. It's incredible. And it's customizable. It's amazing.

The target smash thing is a step down, but it didn't fully hit me until the game started asking me to complete it with every character. What a waste of an entire morning. But I must say, Target Smash Level 5 is genius. Completing it with Ganondorf was an absurd challenge, and I ended up just grabbing a Cracker Launcher to get the target in the lower left corner. The reason I'm ranting about this level so much is because it plays differently for different characters. Plus, it's extra satisfying at the end when you throw a beamsword around to get the last few targets.

I appreciate the game's influence from Kirby's Air Ride with the ability to view the 'Challenges' screen and see how to unlock various trophies, music, stages, etc. But it sort of made me realize the game's blatant efforts toward more gameplay. Which is not to say that the game is better than Melee, as they both require you to beat the one player modes with every single character, which is getting to be a lot. Co-op All Star Mode is helping, but the entire concept makes me feel like the game is trying too hard. But, of course, doing those things isn't necessary to get every stage or every character or even every song, so I guess I could just skip it and not collect every trophy, but something about the game just pulls me in. I guess at the end of the day, it's still irresistably fun.

Most of the time. My long-running metaphorical blood feud with the poor enemy AI in Melee is, surprisingly, long-running. Playing any of the single player modes on anything higher than normal will always make you yell at your TV with idiotic statements like, "WHAT HOW DID HE GRAB ME?" or "NO WAY I WAS SHEILDING" Instead of upping enemy AI to make them smarter, able to set up elaborate combos with their environment and recognize when you're setting them up for an attack, they just get absurd reflexes that can only be described as "one with the machine".

And when the computer players suck this much, and you've got no one around to play with, Wi Fi seems the best option. Of course, we all knew Wi Fi would be laggy, but I just thought it would slow down once in a while (which it does). But beside that, it just feels sluggish. Your character reacts a few precious milliseconds after you press a button, and the overall affect makes my mind feel exhausted, like I just played a ten-live survival match as Captain Olimar. The Wi Fi is good in concept, and so far, there are no problems with getting completely blown out of the water by some jerk who has too much free time, but the game just came out, and I'm sure problems like that will arise with time. Overall, it isn't frustrating, which I guess makes it fun, but for my cheddar, I'd rather just invite my friends over for a Brawl party.

Christ, what a tl;dr. Sorry, I think I've been watching too much ZP. (the worst part is, if I hadn't stopped myself here, I could've gone on talking about the characters themselves)

Got 100% on the Emissary last night. Man. That last 1% bugged the crap out of me. >:0

THE ORANGE BOX WAS OFF SCREEN WHAT THE CRAP

Also, got all characters (in, like, two days), all stages, and I freak out every time I see a CD.

Also also, I noticed you can't use Golden Hammers on any Boss Battles Challenge. WAH TTHE CARP
Ban me. ¯¯\(ºдಠ )/¯

Once you have all the characters, what's the point in completing SSE? It's a stupid game mode for stupid people. And masochists.

Heyyy, so does anyone remember me?
Probably not, unless you have been here about 10 months...

So if anyone wants to play brawl, shoot me a message, aim, or something.
My roommates number (we use his on the good tv) is
[2664-1765-6739]

Thanks.
2v2 is the best, but we can FFA.

To walk through the world by oneself, you can't be protected. Your trust is in whiskey and weed and black sabbath, it's goddamn electric.
