I hate the term moderate. It's so arbritrary and it makes people feel better because they feel like they don't fall sway to the hyper partisan politics in america. This is even assuming the two parties are equally legitimate, when they aren't. Like in Jefferson's time cutting dicks off gay dudes was considered a moderate position (which he agreed with), most of the time the just killed them.

Well, what else would you call it when someone falls somewhere between two extremes? Moderate is a general term for people who align somewhere in the middle/don't align at all.

Neutral is abstaining completely. It's not getting involved. So not a synonym for moderate.

So like, keeping this in the proper thread. The posts from twitter and what not of people freaking out that Obama won just baffle me.

The world didn't end the first time he was elected, I really doubt it will this time.
I mean, here in Oz we got the whole two party thing too. One representing Christian-ish, anti abortion type stuff. The other being for the working class and what have you. I have never seen anyone flip as massive shits over here like they do in the states.
Maybe we're not big shit flippers over here, I don't know.

But I tell you what? I hope U.S Health care covers therapy sessions, cause a lot people over there seem to go through life like they're wired to blow.

Considering Kira was born in a Mormon family, I can understand how it might be a big issue based on past experiences.

Awww Val knows me so well.

And yes that is my exact reasoning,
but because I felt I knew almost nothing about the candidates political/economical plans I wasn't comfortable voting.
Not that It would matter living in a super red state like Oklahoma.

I almost think that this notion of "super red" and "super blue" states is a self-fulfilling prophecy of a kind. Everyone "knows" that dems/reps are going to win in that state, so barely any who would vote for the other guy go and vote for the guy, making the state "super red/blue" and everyone says "I knew it. Good thing I didn't go out and waste my time voting for the other guy"
