Re: Hurrah, A MLP Thread!
Hopefully one of the UK cartoon channels will air this series.
I'm glad that this iteration of MLP is ongoing and that Equestria Girls wan't the death warrant I expected it to be.

Arent TV seasons usually 13 episodes? How come MLP's are so much longer?

Television seasons are usually 13-26 episodes long. But really, a season can be however long the creators or (usually) the buyers of the show deem fit.

The first part of the pirate story in the comics is fantastic; Rainbow Dash is in full Rainbow Dash mode, the artwork is fantastic and the humour is absolutely perfect.

I just bought it and am reading it now. How did I know there was going to be a Luffy pony?

The two in the foreground of Page 13 are Zoro and Sanji, too.

Re: Hurrah, A MLP Thread!
That was a nice season opener.
I really liked that we finally got to see the banishment of Nightmare Moon, Discord's first defeat, and how the Elements were found.
I'm still torn over Discord being a supporting character now, though. I do enjoy seeing him, but it just really feels like he has nothing to do and that his presence is just fanservice.

Yeah, it was pretty great, much better than S3's opener.
The only thing I found somewhat stupid is if you gather that you'll need the elements of harmony to solve this Everfree Forest problem, why send Twilight and her element back to Ponyville?

These episodes alone pretty much blew season 3 out of the water. Also, a season long story arc. Neat.Winchester wrote:That was a nice season opener.

As for Discord, I felt like they actually used him really well. Like, really well. He's still not exactly trustworthy, but isn't evil, he messed with Twilight to make her do the right thing and shit, he was the villain all along sorta kinda. The bits that were more on the comedy relief side were kinda ehhh, but overall his inclusion was not a bad thing. Let's just hope he doesn't show up every other episode now.
Here's a thing a friend wrote that pretty much echos my thoughts on the premiere. http://pastebin.com/HmM5EGsg

I'm impressed. I really enjoyed seeing Discord again, and the flashback scenes were amazing. I'm wondering how they'll spread the crystal lockbox stuff out across these episodes?
