Technological Information
Technological Information
Hey bumheads and butt buddies and other analogies of illiterate comprehension.
How do you find out the various doohickeys of a computer? I need to upgrade my computers graphics, processor and possibly ram but I am at a complete loss as to how to do this, let alone install the required devices.
Recently (about 2 hours ago) I was fortunate enough to purchase The Witcher 2. Upon playing the game however, my computer could not support it at its lowest settings without the framerate running amok.
What I need is a:
"Processor: Quad Core Intel or AMD
RAM: 3 GB Windows XP, 4 GB Windows Vista/7
Graphics: GeForce 260 1 GB or (HD4850 1 GB)
HDD Space: 16 GB"
I'd simply google the aforementioned items, but as previously stated, I have bodaciously no idea what to do from there.
My current 'specs' (?) are:
"Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU
E8400 @ 3.00GHz
3.00 GHz, 2.00 GB of RAM"
Or something like that. I'm not entirely sure I'm looking in the right place to be honest. I seriously have no hint as to what to do here.
Any help would be appreciated.
Help me Obi Wan Kenobi. You're my only hope.

Re: Technological Information
if using a windows computer, go to run, and type in "dxdiag" that should give you all the info about your computer.
if you need any further help, PM me. But next time, ask in a different thread that has been made already. Like my technolology thread.

Re: Technological Information
Witcher 2 System Requirements
Minimum:
- OS: Windows XP/Vista/7
- Processor: Intel 2.2 GHz Dual-Core or AMD 2.5 GHz Dual-Core
- Memory: 1.5 GB (Win XP), 2GB (Win Vista/Win 7)
- Graphics: GeForce 8800 (512 MB) or Radeon HD3850 (512 MB)
Recommended:
- OS: Windows XP/Vista/7
- Processor: Intel or AMD Quad-Core
- Memory: 3 GB (Win XP), 4GB (Win Vista/Win 7)
- Graphics: GeForce 260 (1 GB) or Radeon HD 4850 (1 GB)
Looks like your CPU should be able to run it decently, nor should you have any trouble with memory. Seems like it's probably the graphics card.

Re: Technological Information
Any 4 core will work.
Mid range new video card
64 bit Windows 7
4-8 gigs of (fast) ddr3 RAM
Make sure the motherboard is both 64 bit and usb3.0 compatible
big power supply.
blue ray player.
should be all you need for most new games and a bit for the future.
A gpu upgrade may be worth doing before a new pc, though.
