The Battlefield
Re: The Battlefield
Decent being the keyword here, most people have crappy prebuilts with cheap cards that are barely fit for modern games

Re: The Battlefield
Anybody know when the Back To Karkand pack is coming out today? This morning or later in the day?
EDIT: I just got it now. I got a rush of nostalgia playing Karkand.

Re: The Battlefield
So, uh, does anybody else care about the expansion pack or not?

Re: The Battlefield
Played 3 of the maps so far, you can tell they're not original BF3 maps even if you haven't played 2, like I haven't. They feel more... spacey than BF3's own maps.
Battlelog had also set my filters to only show normal mode servers and not HC ones like usually? I had to play a game with regenerating health and people still running after 2 headshots

Re: The Battlefield
Regen health isn't much of an issue for me when I play on normal servers. You're still as vulnerable to bullets as ever. As a BF2 veteran, I still know Karkand inside and out. I know the routes people take, all the hiding spots, but the destruction element adds an extra tinge to the gameplay that keeps it fresh.
Also, I can't wait until I unlock the Jackhammer. That gun is so badass.

Re: The Battlefield
I really wish that the rocket launchers did more damage to the tanks. I mean, the rockets are designed to destroy armor, but it takes 5 shots to destroy said armor, and that gives them plenty of time to zero in on you and kill you.

Re: The Battlefield
I got pretty good at hitting choppers with rockets in BFBC2, without the tracer.
In BF3, I haven't even bothered to try, it's hard to determine the right angle and I can't even figure out how fast the rocket is
I just can't get the hang of it
Not to mention playing engi is not nearly as rewarding with the temp mine nerf, just restrict the amount of active mines to 6 and have the first one dissapear after the seventh one is laid, etc. Can't expect to kill anything if they simply dissapear after you die

Re: The Battlefield
I just got a kill with the Skid Loader, that mini-bulldozer on Wake Island. What would make Karkand more awesome is if they let you ride on the little toy animals at that mini-playground.

Re: The Battlefield
Ceramic armor can deflect majority of conventional rockets. Especially with reactive armor. The best way to take out a tank is to hit it's weakest point, the back with the engine block and the top. Top and the back in game have multipliers for rpg/tank damage. Hitting an enemy with a bomb or TV missile from a helicopter does wonders, as does a SOFLAM locked Javelin, considering Javelins hit the hatch point of a tank, the thinnest armored point.BurntToShreds wrote:I really wish that the rocket launchers did more damage to the tanks. Re: The Battlefield
Battlefield 3 is banned in Iran. If you're found with a copy—legal or pirated—you'll go to prison. EA's response?
"We can only hope the ban will help prevent pirated copies reaching consumers there"

Re: The Battlefield
Sounds like I would expect a company like EA to respond to be honest
