Re: The Current Events Thread
I'm not fully sure but from what I've heard, I think it's that they don't want banks to go bankrupt and shifted it onto us.
Re: The Current Events Thread
Hrm, well, you have to keep in mind that if the banks did go bankrupt, your economy is fucked and you'll probably end up losing even more cheddar. And the Dutch and British are going to get their cheddar back, one way or the other.

Re: The Current Events Thread
Well, that's true. I just hope that there's another way than this icesave thing. Agreeing to the deal would have been the easy way but there's no telling if it would be the best way.
If Iceland wins in the courts, there's a chance that our government can come to better terms which won't upset the country too much and the Brits and Dutch will be able to get their cheddar or at least some of it. That's to say if our government decides to try and make peace with them.

Well, the court is probably going to force Iceland to pay the cheddar back, one way or another.

THE PRESIDENT OF CZECH REPUBLIC IS A PEN THIEF.
It might seem silly, but watch the video. He's a stone-cold klepto.

NATO did an airstrike on the city of Misrata and Tripoli.
Gaddafi's youngest son died in the airstrike of Tripoli according to government spokesman.
Gaddafi was in one of the buildings attacked by NATO but he survived without injuries. Along with Gaddafi's son, his grand kids died as well.

I wonder if they're still even pretending to "defend" rebels.
Re: The Current Events Thread
Apparently, Osama bin Laden is dead. Unless these are just some rumors.

Re: The Current Events Thread
Supposedly, Obama is planning on announcing it in some speech tonight, or something. I don't know whether that's actually the case, but the tubes are certainly ablaze with rumors.

I'll wait until Obama says hes dead before I believe a bunch of news outlets who jump the gun because the want to be the first to report it.
