Re: The Current Events Thread
Okay, I know this from experience. My brother is an avid fan of the Pokemon Card games, and has played the online game himself. The QR codes are meant to be scanned on a program for the Pokemon Online game only, to access several cards for your online deck. The QR code or the 12 digit code is only meant to be used on said game. Anything else should probably be ineffective. It does not link to the site itself. It would not link to any website. Like some commenters have said, this isn't possible to pull up porn from Pokemon Cards.

If dolphins are so smart, then why do they live in igloos?
(Nobody will get this)

Burn 'em to shreds, tear 'em to ashes.

So many kids have entitlement issues these days.

I've seen this video and I can understand his actions to a degree but I also don't think this is the best kind of foundation for a father to start building improved relations with his daughter.BurntToShreds wrote:This. In fact I think their relationship is probably screwed for the long haul - this will forever be a sore point and the internet will let neither of them forget about it.
Yeah, he's being hailed as some sort of hero now - and it will serve as an example for problem children in other families, but this guys' own family life will most likely be damaged by this video in the long term.
I would not advise trying to resolve family disputes through the internet - even if the girl was herself posting comments about her family on facebook - I think her father could have handled it differently and may yet regret his actions.

Re: The Current Events Thread
As long as the lessons aren't racist, homophobic, or sexist, I don't really see what's wrong. Religion is flawed and has many mixed messages, but if people pick out the good ones they can teach really good values.
I do wish the article expanded more upon what "being a man" meant, but I feel like it's a reflection of today's attitudes towards religion for people to jump to negative conclusions about a self-help session.
(This is based solely on the written article, I have trouble watching videos on my new connection so I couldn't see if there was a different message contained there.)

There are too many new people on here.

It's very easy to be a man. You must be swift as a coursing river, have all the force of a great typhoon, have all the strength of a raging fire, and be mysterious as the dark side of the moon.

Just think, soon we'll just buy packets of dried food-powder and a special machine, and then just add water and BOOM cheeseburger.
