The only thing I have pirated recently is Photoshop CS5, because I'm sorry, I don't think any computer program of that caliber is worth spending upwards of $300-500-1000 for
Other than that? If I can't afford something no matter how much I want it, they're already not getting my cheddar.
Also keep in mind who Anonymous is. They're not some big bad of the Internet, they are the everyday common person on said Internet. If Anonymous as a majority decides on an operation there are few things capable of stopping it.
I would like to see you buy TV programs, watch movies and get music from Steam.
Black March is not "stop buying entertainment". It is "stop buying entertainment that supports old business models and tries to force through laws to keep it running". No matter where you buy it from, they will get cheddar. They need to feel the lack of it. They need to understand we don't accept the way they treat their customers and how they influence politics to make laws that restrict free speech and could potentially censor any website. This is morally wrong and they know it, but they don't give a shit because we keep on buying their stuff. The only reason they actually can influence politics is because we buy their stuff.
Stop buying their stuff and they loose cheddar. When they loose cheddar they can't bribe politicians. When they can't bribe politicians they can't get oppressive laws passed.
The black march would hurt small business owners more than it would hurt big business. I guess if you really want to though, just black march those who favor SOPA/PIPA. That way the little guys won't get hurt this way.
For him to say that reeks of him thinking he can win this (and likely winning this would mean the MPAA could reasonably win almost anything), and thus there's no need to keep up the charade that they're doing nothing wrong. He's not dumb enough to do this for no reason (or at least that's how I see it), but he is dumb enough to have outed himself before a definitive vote has been cast, and hopefully that will be his downfall.
This is like the climax of a Disney film at this point.
