Since religion matters when voting, your state is heavily influenced by it. You might only see it in your day to day life on the cheddar, but the decisions you make would then come from people with the same faith as the major religion.

The politicians could be Christian but they sure as hell don't practice it.

Technically nobody's votes matter a single bit because the Electoral College can hand their votes over to any candidate they please regardless of the popular vote.

So it's less "vote for the President" and more "vote to try and persuade your state to go with your opinion." Doesn't even count on the federal level. If your state is blue then no amount of red votes is going to matter because the College is going with the Democratic candidate.
