I think they rushed the game a bit to reach the deadline. The story can be really dumb sometimes so I like to focus on the worlds they let me explore.Kira wrote:Finished this game yesterday but homestuck sprites got me distracted.
Desmond's ending. is anticlimactic. Although the story the Juno tells you as you plug in the power cells is pretty interesting.
Connor's story was interesting enough although they never once said the words I was waiting for. "Nothing is true, everything is permitted".
And there was a stupid as mess up in the aftergame. As anybody who beat the game would know, the super awesome mentor, whose name escapes me, dies. And the very minute after the credits and the epilogue starts I run to help some damsel in distress and bring her strait to Mr. Mentor. Shit is fucked up Ubisoft.
Another thing that really pushes my buttons is at the end after Juno talks to you again when you have the glass apple looking thing and it starts to disintegrate, that is the worst peace of shit animation on the planet. I've seen better animation whenever I win solitaire in windows. Jesus fuck, this game cost millions to make but they cant make a fucking half assed animation!? It was like 1/9 assed maybe 1/7 assed if it was a friday.
Jeese this ending.

Where else would the series go?
I'm not a big fan, I'm only just now working my way through the first game between computer issues, but I can't see the series managing to string anything feasible out of post-revolution America. China seems like the best option for the developers at this point, I'd think.

Re: Assassin's Creed
Asia seems like a logical next step, but there are quite a few more interesting cultures and time periods to explore.
Re: Assassin's Creed
Since they took a step forward in time with every installment, it would be logical that the next game would be in the 20th century, which was one of the most eventful in history.
So likely during WWI / WWII in Britain / Germany / Russia / France.

Re: Assassin's Creed
Well that's the thing, I think that if they go any further forward in history, it'll stop being at all plausible. A guy in a large showy robe won't exactly be effective on a WWII battleground.
I'm expecting a prequel before they either close off the series or give it a serious re-tooling, so a game set much earlier in China sounds most plausible to me.

Re: Assassin's Creed
Well the robe got changed for III to incorporate the british army things and stuff.
Now look how the SS uniforms looked like.
While black, they do resemble the assassin's clothes enough to make a variation of that.
Though I don't know how they want to make it so that the good guy is in the SS of all things.

Re: Assassin's Creed
The original Assassin robes only vaguely resembled the mok robes that they were supposed to mimic, I imagine a trench coat could be made to resemble an Assassin's outfit. I think there's been a lot of talk about setting the next game in Brazil. It's not hard to see the favelas there as a playground for freerunners.
What I would love to see more than anything is an unending stream of games set at different times and places throughout history, ignoring all the modern day framing bullshit. I enjoyed these games much more when they were about the ancestors. Ever since #1, I've been waiting for Japanese ninjas or something equally cool.

You're supposed to be an Assassin, not an Assasshole.
