Western Cartoons/Comics
Re: Western Cartoons/Comics
Does southpark count? I get lulled by the relatively tame episodes and blindsided when later sometimes, like with the latest episode. It's not the main plot so much as Randy's side plot that got me this time. wtf did I see? haha.

Cannon Busters has reached it's goal. I really wish that it had met it earlier so that they could have more cheddar on top of that to make a longer pilot. Still, I'm glad to see an animation project like this actually get funded in the first place.

back to neil gaiman novels it is then
So I read the first volume of the Sandman series and it's great and I want more, but these comics are way too fucking expensive for how quickly I can read them.
Re: Western Cartoons/Comics
Sandman is goddamn fantastic.

the horror bits were very disturbing
All I know is the first volume was fantastic, and if the rest of the series is anywhere near as good then I want it all. It was on sale for $5 but the rest of the series is about $12-15 per volume and I'll go broke for about a day's worth of reading if I buy them all.
Neil Gaiman's novels are great as well and that's what led me to read his comics work. The art wasn't half bad either.

Re: Western Cartoons/Comics
There's what seems like a new miniseries where Spider-Man is teaching at the Jean Grey School (used to be the Xavier School) and he needs to root out a mole from among the students at (now-dead) Logan's request. They wind up fighting some bad guys that aren't just other X-Men that turned bad for a week, or their future selves, or an antimutant government agency. It's really, REALLY refreshing.

That looks amazing. I wish I had known about it so I could have backed it.

There's also The Reward which Tales of Alethrion is meant to be a prequel series to if you haven't seen it yet.

I want to continue talking about Xiaolin Showdown but do not wish to invade another thread with off-topic posts
The overarching plots were mediocre, and the fact that they felt the need to revive-uh. I'm blanking on names, the ghost lady-several times just to keep her relevant was a bit ridiculous.
But the Shen Gong Wu were interesting and the battles were fun to watch.
Fuck the sequel series, though. Completely unnecessary despite the fact that the ending of the first series wasn't great.
