The idea is to avoid people making homes under ground as it would be impossible for other players to find them. Rather have many chests with weapons and material scattered about and have the players find them. Then again... The game masters could just fill the walls with lava if they dig down...

The crust is one block thick, rest of it is lava.

Wouldn't that result in very easy access to lava for players? I'd have a crust of stone with bedrock under it.

I'm with Syobon on this one, just a single layer of blocks covering bedrock is probably the best solution.

Apparently books only support ASCII characters. So none of this

I have a tekkit server i've been running for a bit. The land is on a large island, so we've been building a small city on this island if you wish to join.

This is the IP 24.231.65.216

What I want to know:
How large of an area do you want per player?
Do you want to start like the movie? Everyone at the same spot with weapons available?
Should players be able to mine regular rock? Ores should still work.
Um, I don't know if you know but the arena map has this built in - there's 24 spaces available and then the main person flicks a switch and they rise up. In the middle of them all is a bunch of chests containing stuff like swords and food (or the person can decide to skip the chests and run into the forest.) The rules are that you can only craft with materials inside the chests, and you can't dig down (but technically there's nothing actually stopping them from doing it.) The map itself is fairly large.

Of course you can always edit the rules, make it so people can only make wooden swords or something, it's up to you.

Or you can just make it a rule that you can't hide away for the entire game???

Give the gamemakers the ability to X-Ray so they can punish people who hide underground.

How do you guys like it? That huge red 'A' with the 'Z' in it was impossible, so I just tried to make it look as little awkward (heh) as possible

That's actually really neat! I like it.

I think I'd like to play too, if I have nothing else to do next Friday. Sounds like a lot of fun. :U
