I find it cheap that the game always makes it turn to night before you can get to Hyrule Castle for the first time, so the drawbridge always closes RIGHT BEFORE YOU GET THERE and then you FIGHT SKELETONS. When I first played that part of the game, I pussed out and hopped into the moat where they couldn't get me and waited until morning.

also I got reamed, brother. A couple of times.

if you rolled all the way from Kokiri forest you can make it in time.

I havn't gotten locked out of the castle in the beginning of the game in years.

Apparently I should go talk to Saria before I can go to Death Mountain.

Why? Dunno.

I cannot find her in this crazy village.

I should go ask one of the Exposition elves to tell me.

How does he know exactly where I am going to be and what I need to hear?

Stalker owls aside, I wandered around and found some Sacred meadow.

You'd think that being Sacred, this meadow would repel monsters.

You'd be wrong.

What is with the forces of justice and crazy puzzles. Just once I would like to walk into a plot-relevant location and the goal is RIGHT THERE.

Also I fall in a hole.

I'm doing that a lot.

The contents of the spring heal me. I am okay with this.

Time to run around and do some crazy temple shit.

I arrive at my destination, which is a broken temple.

Couldn't the owl have just flown me here?

Saria is her laying down some mad rhythms.

Apparently it's Duet time.

Me and Saria lay down some sick tunes together.

It's righteous.

Ill beats aside, it's time to head back to Death Mountain.

Unless of course Creepora Gaebora shows up again.

I must go through Kakariko first. Maybe I should poke around a little.

And by "Poke around" I mean "Break into as many houses as possible"

I COULD help this lady with her chickens.

I'm sure I have nothing more important to do.

Except for SAVING EXISTENCE, of course.

I show Zelda's note to the guard and he allows me to pass.

He does recommend I pick up a better shield in Castle Town.

He also requests I bring him a mask. Since I'm going anyway I might as well finish that sidequest.

OH GOD YOU ARE TERRIFYING

I put on my Shield and Keatan Mask.

This is like some crazy turtle shell. I don't think I can even use this shield properly.

I hand the guard his mask and continue on to Death Mountain.

It does suck that you can barely ever get to Hyrule Castle before night falls, but have you guys ever... you know... jumped into the water to avoid fighting the skeletons? They don't follow you in there. And I think if they try, they die.

I feel bad fighting them because they're just dead little kids.

And yet they endlessly arise from the ground, and even the stairs to Kakariko. I also have to wonder what the big skeletons were, seeing as how they seem to be too big to just be a skeleton of a child.
