quick question: if i get a widescreen laptop (1600 x 900) and hook up my wacom graphire 4 tablet (regular aspect ratio) does it mess up the tablet's input? like does the horizonal input get decreased (you have to move the tablet more horizontally to get it to move)
i'm worried because the computer i have my heart set on is widescreen and my tablet is not wide, so um yeah

Yes, but you can go into settings and change the screen-tablet mapping in your tablet's driver's settings.Reubo wrote:quick question: if i get a widescreen laptop (1600 x 900) and hook up my wacom graphire 4 tablet (regular aspect ratio) does it mess up the tablet's input? like does the horizonal input get decreased (you have to move the tablet more horizontally to get it to move)

My laptop monitor has been having problems for s while now and I'm at a loss at what to do. The best way I can think to describe it is when I look at images with large file sizes/a lot of details (or both; I'm not really sure) the screen starts getting crushed or squeezed into itself. Basically, whatever part of the picture is most complicated gets squeezed like someone's pressing on the top and bottom of the screen. When the screen get squeezed, I then get another image of the screen towards the bottom. At the worst I've had about seven or eight (really really compressed) screens at once. The monitor also flickers a lot, which I think is it trying to normalize itself. Sorry if I didn't describe that very well
The thing is, the screen completely normalizes for a split second whenever I turn off the computer
Also when I was showing someone the problem yesterday and turned the computer towards him and leaned on the monitor a bit to adjust it, it went completely normal for the rest of the day, only to screw up again this morning. I've been trying to recreate whatever it is I did, but it's not working.
I've tried to take a screenshot of it, but as far as I can tell the shot just shows a completely normal screen.

hp Compaq nc6400, and I've had it for about three years. Never had any other problems with it.
The problem usually happens when I travel, so the guy I showed it to thinks it might be a loose connection somewhere in the processor
It would probably also be good to mention that, since I'm currently on break while studying abroad in England, it's going to be kind of hard to find somewhere to get it looked at professionally. Luckily I have a four year warranty on it so at least I can try to get it fixed permanently when I get back to the States
It probably doesn't help that I know exactly jack shit about computers
