Re: The DeviantART & Furaffinity Thread
Most bionicles do come with instructions which makes them fairly simple
Freehanding it, however, is another matter entirely
There's a reason the LEGO company pays people to do nothing but design those guys

Re: The DeviantART & Furaffinity Thread
Even if the model itself is complex, and complex to build, I don't think it's DD worthy when you just take a photo of a figurine (especially when it got instructions).
It's like saying "Wooooaaaaah look at this dude, he finished building a figurine! That's like, amazing! He really got incredible skills to build a slightly more difficult model after instructions"
Like this, you could DD every photo of a gunpla or whatever they are called. You know, the stuff Taruta does

Did you guys all somehow manage to miss the part where that's not a model with instructions
he just

Since this is garbled English, please refer to the brutal attack of confusion.
Re: The DeviantART & Furaffinity Thread
Except the ones that are DD should be painted amazingly or be modded with parts or home made resin. Even then I mainly just put pics of mine on photoshop and I'm gonna showcase my painted X1 on youtube only really.Tatzel wrote:Like this, you could DD every photo of a gunpla or whatever they are called. Also anyone can just "make" something with instructions out of legos. Not that tough. But add the fact that "It's lego Tali" and suddenly, daily deviation, despite it still being fan art just in a different form.
But then again it's deviantArt, so why should I be ranting?

Why do people keep saying thisTaruta wrote:Also anyone can just "make" something with instructions out of legos.
You're missing the single most important detail

Without instructions, yes, I get it. It just boggles me mind is all really. But then again not gonna over think this through when it comes to dA, where a dude will try to sell a shitty ms paint drawing on a shirt for $20 via their purchased membership.

I used to be part of a MoCing community. Shit gets complicated. That isn't a very intricate model.
Still neat, and still custom, but not anything near the really cool stuff.
For instance

I could take some photos of the stuff I've made without instructions if you're interested.YCobb wrote:Did you guys all somehow manage to miss the part where that's not a model with instructions

Are you?

No seriously bro that's Bionicle shit right there
Shit's complex, if you don't know exactly what you are doing at every turn you will fuck up ROYALLY
If you think Bionicle is complex you might want to try building some of the Lego Technic sets that were probably before your time.
I was building Lego models without instructions before you were born. bodaciously.
Re: The DeviantART & Furaffinity Thread
I didn't use Lego Technic.
I used K'nex.
I used K'nex.
Stuff goes here later.

Just because you've been doing it longer doesn't mean you're better
Are you the five-time winner of the St. James Multigrade Lego Building challenge?

Do you own a unique LEGO Lightsaber handle which you won in an Official Lego Challenge at Toys'R'Us
