ffff I was thinking of doing a Persona 3 FES lets play... first I need a capture card though. Not to mention I am utterly horrible at the game but that is beside the point....
It will contain vast amounts of spoilers and awesome. If I do it.

I'm doing a P4 playthrough with a normal video camera. As long as you have a good camera and a good TV, then the quality still comes out fine.

Oh wow xD I guess it's too bad I have neither of those. My camera is old and gonna die soon, my TV's pixels are dying xD

Better to ask first and look precautious then to make a mistake later and look the fool.

Also, yes, I am fully aware that I haven't been updating the front page. I've just been really busy lately.

So as some of you might know, I love Deus Ex. A lot. I even considered doing an LP of it for a while, but I don't want to get in Dimm's way if he ever decides to continue his.
So what I'm gonna do is the next best thing: An LP of The Nameless Mod, probably the most loved Deus Ex mod out there. Only I hadn't actually played it before starting this, so you'll be watching my first time playing this game.
It's gonna start in this here thread because I want to see if you people want me to continue it, or if giving it its own thread would just be a waste of space.
Also, this game only works correctly at a resolution of 1280*1024 for me, and some of the text is pretty small.
I'll resize all the screenshots to 800*640 for this, but you might not be able to read everything.
Oh, and this update is gonna be extremely long, just so you can get a good idea of what this'll be like.
But enough of this.

Welcome to:

Image
Let's Play The Nameless Mod!

Image
First off: Creating a character.
There's not actually a lot I can do here, except for assigning my skill points and changing my appearance. I can't change the name I'll be called, so it'll be Trestkon whether you like it or not.

Image
Anyway, I always enjoyed taking the stealthy approach to things in Deus Ex, so I'm gonna try that here too.
I bring Computer, Electronics and Lockpicking to the Trained level. Pistol is automatically Trained and can't be downgraded either, unlike in the original Deus Ex (where you could earn some free skill points through this, thanks to a glitch that automatically set your Pistol skill back to Trained once you started the game, but didn't charge you for it).
Anyway, Computer allows me to hack computers and security panels, Electronics allows me to shut off cameras and open certain doors, and Lockpicking should be pretty obvious.
There's four levels of training: Untrained, Trained, Advanced and Master. They mean different things depending on the skill. A higher Lockpicking skill means I'll need less lockpicks to pick a lock, while a higher Computer skill doesn't only make me hack things faster, but also allows me to hack more complex systems.
And with that out of the way, let's go!

Image
The intro starts, and this is bodaciously the first thing I see. A rat, garbage and hints at a possible sewer level.
Oh great.

Image
But suddenly, a disturbance! Some dude runs through the picture and scares off the rat.

Image
We then cut to another guy running through the same alley. I think he's carrying a spork.

Image
Oh boy, looks like they're gonna fight! My bets are on the spork dude.

Image
And then they both suddenly turn into smoke. If they both die at the same time, what does that mean for my bet?

Image
After a few seconds of the camera just looking at the ground, this kind man apparently has mercy with me and decides to show me his shoes.
Well, I guess anything is better than just the ground.

Image
The camera is shocked by this sudden intruder and apparently wants to find out more about him.
Well, he doesn't look too friendly. I guess he's the one that vaporized the two other dudes just a minute ago.
He's also got a face full of wires and red glowy eyes. How intimidating.

Image
I should probably explain this.
This whole game takes place in what I guess you could call an artist's rendering of a certain Deus Ex forum called PlanetDeusEx. I've never been there, but I guess we all more or less know what forums are like.
This guy's name is Deus Diablo, and he's a mod. proletariats are basically immortal.

Image
He then walks away, probably to go enjoy a nice hot cup of tea.

Image
But suddenly, this other alley starts to glow red! How ominous!

Image
Deus-Diablo-o-Vision!
Don't ask me why it's not glowing red now, though.

Image
Deus Diablo spots a fleeing nothing and promptly gives chase.
He also draws a red lightsaber that somehow manages to have a black tip.

Image
Looks like nothing was hiding in the alley and took him by surprise.

Image
After a short scream, Deus Diablo apparently vanishes, and so does the red glow.

Image
We are then shown the title again, so we don't forget what game's unnecessarily long intro cinematic we are watching here.

Image
Oh look, it's a picture of Deus Diablo and two other guys. I guess they're proletariats, too.
They seem to be taking their jobs very seriously.

Image
I suppose one of them is Phasmatis, whose answering machine we're listening to right now.

Image
Someone leaves a message. I guess it's the third mod.
The camera then starts flying through the city.

Image
Look, it's Nick!

Image
... or not. Just when I thought this was getting good.
These two fine gentleman seem to share my feelings towards his masquerade.

Image
Cut to a Convention of the Fashionably Challenged.
Or maybe it's just the third mod's office.

Image
Hey look, they're talking about me!

Image
So anyway this guys starts complaining and jesus christ this intro is way too daisies long.
Let me just summarize the rest:
Deus Diablo has apparently been kidnapped, and there's a number of possible suspects, most notably WorldCorp Inc., a huge company that is totally suspicious because it's a huge company run by a smug asshole, and DXO (short for DeusEx.org), a terrorist organization.
There's a war between two religious groups, the Goat Cult and the Llama Cult. They're mostly fighting in the Downtown sector, and PDX (the government, basically) are struggling to stop the conflict before it escalates.
Phew.

Image
When the game finally starts, it drops me off in some building god knows where.
Well, let's get exploring I guess.

Image
As I make my way inside, Phasmatis, the mod who contacted me in the first place, sends me a PM and tells me to come visit him in his room upstairs.
So I guess this is a hotel.

Image
Correction: A hotel with massive steel doors.

Image
And cleaning robots! Sweet!

Image
I talk to the receptionist, who also tells me to go upstairs.
See that shadow on his face? He probably spent hours trying to figure out where he has to stand so it falls just right.

Image
Well, let's go upstairs th--
Wait, is that a mirror? Let's look at me first.

Image
Hah.
I don't think I really need to go visist Phasmatis. I can already tell he just wants to invite me to the next Convention of the Fashionably Challenged.
Nice yellow jumpsuit, me.
Hey, wait.

Image
Is that a cop? What would you need a cop for in this hotel? A mod lives here!

Image
Actually, I changed my mind. Let's explore this place a little more before we head to Phasmatis.

Image
I find this Public Computer Terminal, but it holds no important or even interesting information.
Let's move on.

Image
sup, drinks.

Image
Let's go look at Mr. Receptionist's office!

Image
Sweet, a laptop! Let's see what top-secret information this guy has stored on here.

Image
Whatever it is, I can't access it. This laptop is too well-protected, so no hacking.
At least I find out that this hotel is apparently owned by WorldCorp, though.

Image
Well, I took the receptionist's soda anyway.

Image
Looking good there, Agent 47.
Hey, wasn't there an air duct around here somewhere?

Image
There we go!
Now let's put to use what Gordon Freeman taught me.

Image
I crawl in, but it's really daisies dark.

Image
Good thing my vision is augmented!
Yes, this light is actually coming from my eyes. Don't ask.

Image
After a few metres, I come across this grid.

Image
There's no way for me to open it, though, so I move on.

Image
Woo, an exit! I turn off my light and step outside.

Image
Oh great, more guards. I guess I'll just try to sneak by.

Image
Up the stairs I go, only my trusty password folder to keep me company.
Yes, this is a password folder. Or keyring, as Deus Ex called it.
Point is, it opens doors I have the keys to. Or the password. Whatever.

Image
Ah yeah, this is where the other guard patrols.

Image
I'm feeling charitable, so I decide I'll punch him to death to save the manager from paying him.
As I said before, a mod lives here. No need for guards.
They're not really people anyway.
They really aren't! According to the game, they're just software, not actual users. I guess you could compare them to a firewall or a filter.

Image
Super exciting waiting time GO

Image
God, finally. Let's do this.

Image
You, know, actually ...
This guy probably has a knife. Or worse, a gun.
I don't think this'd end well.

Image
For now, tactical retreat.
Let's see what's down this other flight of stairs.

Image
A door!

Image
A locked door. That I don't have the key to.
Ugh.

Image
Well, back into the air duct.

Image
The receptionist, whose name is apparently Shawn, doesn't seem to care about me crawling around in his air ducts.
I'm okay with this.

Image
Well, let's finally go up now.

Image
Man, this is one futuristic-looking elevator.

Image
I press the button for this floor for the heck of it.

Image
The doors close and I'm trapped. Now that's just dandy.

Image
Maybe going to another floor will help.

Image
Yep, we're moving.

Image
The doors open and I step outside.
Phasmatis calls me stupid, but only for going to the wrong floor.
Took him long enough.

Image
Alright then, no more screwing around.

Image
Yawn.

Image
Alright, here we are.

Image
I'm guessing this is where Phasmatis is waiting for me.

Image
Or it's just a storeroom.
Might as well steal whatever's in here as a compensation for all this wasted time.

Image
Sweet, a screwdriver!
And some chargers for a riod prod, a weapon used to electrify people. Don't have one of those, though.

Image
This thing makes a pretty good weapon, actually.
Well, better than my fists anyway.
I also take that canister over there because you can never have enough toxic chemicals.

Image
Dammit this is just too tempting.
Let's go try out my screwdriver, guys.

Image
Hey, bro.
Guess who's back.

Image
YES
This guy bleeds an awful lot for a piece of software.

Image
Who cares, let's take his stuff.
A gun, a knife and a password. Awesome!

Image
A gun with exactly one bullet in it, to be exact.
If he wasn't dead already, I'd kill that guard again for this.

Image
Actually, I should probably at least try to hide this guy's body.

Image
Good enough for me.

Image
Suddenly, alarm.
Dammit, who did that.

Image
Ah, so that was you, huh.
Don't worry, I won't forget about you.

Image
And of course the other guards are alert now. Just great.

Image
I wait till they've calmed down, then I enter their room.
So far, so good.

Image
That's one small stab for a m-

Image
WHAT
THIS IS NOT HOW HUMAN REFLEXES WORK

Image
DIE, DEMON

Image
AND DON'T THINK I'VE FORGOTTEN ABOUT YOU

Image
GO BACK TO HELL

Image
Alright, where was I?

Image
Right, stealing stuff.
Some ammo and a password I likely already have.

Image
Also some coffee and this tranquilizer mine.

Image
Now to hack this terminal.

Image
Hacking in progress.

Image
There we are.
Gotta love technology.

Image
I open the door to this room. Nothing else to do.
I also hack the other terminal, but there's nothing of use to do there, either, so I won't show it.

Image
Looks like I still don't have the key to this room.
Well, not a problem. I still have something important to take care of, anyway.

Image
Thought you'd just activate the alarm, didn't you Shawn.

Image
DIDN'T YOU

Image
In your air duct with you.

Image
Huh, what's that?

Image
It's the key to that one door! Sweet.

Image
Go murder!

Image
WHY ARE YOU HERE

Image
While I stab him in the face, he starts talking about how I must still be around here somewhere.
Well, he's not technically wrong.

Image
I think I just killed the guy Shawn learned his shadow technique from.
How rude, locking his own mentor in his basement.

Image
Hell yeah, he was carrying a baton! I love those things. They do more damage than a knife but fill up the same inventory space.

Image
And that's what my inventory looks like right now.
Let's go see what's in these siderooms.

Image
Two scramble grenades, for example. They cause mechnical enemies to start attacking each other. Pretty handy.

Image
And a repairbot! They refill your bioenergy, which is like your MP. Bioenergy is used up when you activate augmentations, like my flashlight eyes.

Image
Well, let's see what else is in that r--

Image
AUGH
These things only showed up late in the game in the original Deus Ex! They drain both your health and your bioenergy by a lot, and I mostly took them out with the rocket launcher.
This game doesn't fuck around.
I'm going somewhere else.

Image
There's still two more rooms, after all.
This one has a cabinet ...

Image
... and more toxic chemicals! Woo!
Also an explosive crate. Let's see if I can't use that to my advantage.

Image
oh god i hope i didnt just sign my own death warrant

Image
Whew. Let's see if it killed that spider.

Image
Victory!
What's that tube?

Image
A valuable painting, apparently. Though how I can tell by looking at it like this, I have no idea.

Image
I smash these supply crates and find some ammo and a medkit. Nice.

Image
Also: Fire extinguisher.

Image
Well, let's really finally do this!

Image
sup bro

Image
BLAH BLAH BLAH PLOT
There's a curfew, so I can only go to the corporate district, the slums and downtown.
The proletariats have a boss, too, he's called Despot. They can only ban people if everybody agrees, so without Deus Diablo they are basically powerless.
Phasmatis also tells me about all the stuff from the intro and offers me to help PDX find Deus Diablo. I agree, because I don't feel like messing with someone that won't die when I stab him right now.
What he doesn't mention is that I murdered everybody in the building, on a way that would've taken anybody else 2 minutes.

Next time (if you guys want me to continue): We explore Phasmatis' apartment, raid his fridge and make fun of his CD collection!
