Re: Track Screws
I was wondering why you are using screws - is the track pre-ballasted? It is v subjective but I have just used pins (with pre-drilled holes) to hold it in place until it is ballasted and glued (using varnish is also an option I have read). Either way, especially with plywood, pre-drilling is the trick. HTH

Re: Track Screws
From my experience in this situation, making pilot holes is a good idea because it may define by the manufacturer. I suggest you order the screws from sites like https://www.scrooz.com.au/fasteners/wall-plugs/ so they will have the same size as your device. If you want to know my opinion, it is better to get the bolts from stainless steel, they are a little bit more expensive, but they will have the best durability, so in your place, I would choose these bolts. By the way, Pozi screws are not so good from my experience, so I suggest you take another brand screws.
