Everyone should just remember how awesome the series is and that it would be really hard to mess it up.

The race of the characters as portrayed in the movie, I could care less about.

I hate to be "that guy who cries racist" but all the protagonists are white and all of the antagonists are minorities. It's yellowface, pure and simple. (Which I find really odd, considering that Shyamalan is a minority.)

Maybe it's not racist, but it's still washing away the cultural elements that made me fall in love with the show.

I hope you're right. That said, just because something was awesome doesn't mean that the adaptation can't be abysmal.

PS- I just found out that they're removing the Chinese characters (writing) from the movie, which caused the cultural consultant to quit.

Normally, I would expect it, but this is a minority ethnicity director doing an adaptation of a TV show that relied heavily on Eastern cultural themes.

Besides, the TV show was mainstream, and the only thing western about it was that it was in English.

Also, something I just realized is that when I said "Chinese characters" I meant Chinese writing. The written language in the movie is going to be gibberish. I'm sorry if that confused anyone.
