Come to think of it, there's not a single person in the playable cast in DA:O I don't like.

EDIT: Rather late, but yeah, FFVIII is quite good. A lot of the complaints come from two major things:

1) Everything levels up with you, like in Oblivion. Unlike Oblivion, however, this was implemented well.
2) There's a couple things that confuse people, namely the Junction system and especially time compression, for some reason. If you have half a brain it seems simple enough to understand.

I can't really chose video game characters I'd call my favourite(s). I'm having trouble thinking of a character I love, because I really link them to the games they are from, so I may as well list my favourite games. There are characters I like a lot, but I can't list them all, and I can't chose between them either.
I dunno... Maybe I'll try to think about it longer, but I just feel like it's silly to just take a character and label it my "favourite" when the character by itself is often not that big of a deal without the events and other characters surrounding it. I... I dunno, it just feels weird to me.

Neither of those things are forced in the game it's just the fans.
