Things that piss you off
Re: Things that piss you off
My boss seriously sent back a self-review that I did and told me to re-write parts of it because she didn't like it and her superiors would see it.
Also without mentioning anything I'm suddenly 4 hours short on next week's schedule.
I love my job but I hate my passive aggressive boss.

Wait... Was it a review you did of her, or a review you did of yourself?

Myself.
Essentially any part where I spoke up about not agreeing with a policy, or included "unprofessional" language (I had to delete an instance of the word "cool" ) , I had to delete.
I took the review as an honest opportunity to speak candidly about my position and my opinions on myself and the store. I guess that wasn't what she wanted to see.
I've been working at this place for three months and I could honestly count on my hands the amount of days I've spent a decent portion of my shift working with my boss. Even less so the amount of actual discussions I've had with her.
Which sucks because I share my position with another person, and he gets a lot more face-time with her. We're both managers, yet were hired on together because my boss thought that we would be able to float in the company, and help out other stores.
However because he's been getting more shifts with her since the very beginning, she never sees me work, and thinks that I don't do anything. So because of this I continue to get less hours and worse shifts, therefore giving me less of an opportunity to prove myself as a useful employee in her eyes.
But yeah long story short I'm pretty much fed up with my boss, and nobody else in the store likes her at all. She's fairly incompetent, does nothing on the floor, and leaves 4 hours early almost every day. The only reasons she has her position is because she's friends with the district manager, and because all her employees are fantastic (the other managers and employees really do an amazing job), the store looks like it's being run perfectly.
Sorry for ranting so much but I just can't hold this shit in.

Apparently I havent seen the family doctor in over two years, so I can't get a prescription refilled until I either drive back home or find a new doctor here. Ugh
Also I had an appointment with my career counselor today but she had to cancel.
is nothing easy

This humidity can get the fuck out of here already. It feels like summer and it's making me miserable at work.
Re: Things that piss you off
The humidity's killing me, too. I've been feeling unable to do things the past few days, wanting only to try and sleep or stare at the TV.
I don't even like TV!
Think we ought to try and dry up the oceans?

Re: Things that piss you off
A week ago:
Me: "I hate when the dog scratches and whines at my door every morning. I have to go get up and sleep on the couch."
Mom: "Don't get your dirty body on the couch. I'd rather you just let her into your room."
Kind of insulting, but OK.
Today:
Me: "The dog tore into my comforter this morning when I let her in my room."
Mom: "Nice.... Why didn't you just sleep on the couch?"
BECAUSE YOU FUCKING TOLD ME NOT TO, ASSHOLE.
Mom: "You probably had food or something on your bed that made her want to chew on your comforter."
RIGHT. OK. HOW DID I FUCKING KNOW THIS WAS ALL GOING TO BE MY FAULT SOMEHOW. BECAUSE IT'S NOT LIKE WE HAVE A GODDAMN TERRIER PUPPY WHO IS KNOWN FOR DESTROYING HER SOFT, FLUFFY TOYS. RIGHT. MY FAULT AGAIN.

Re: Things that piss you off
Confirmation bias. Those of us with decent parents don't have to mention them.

Eh, my ma isn't entirely awful, it just doesn't occur to her that she could be making someone else unhappy. She always feels bad once it's been pointed out.

Re: Things that piss you off
I think people are just able to identify and talk about upsetting things that happen to them, like moms being mean, because then it kind of relieves the stress after talking about it.
I think I've been quite responsible so far with my kitty cat named Arya. I feed him, bathe him, got rid of his fleas when we first got him, trim his nails, buy his cat food, and even pay for all his vet bills. Today he was going to get neutered. It includes the exam, pretreatment, all the stuff to make sure he doesn't have a ton of pain, nail trim courtesy, and a blood work thing. I have enough cheddar for this, and I trust these vets because we've been going to them ever since we got him.
However, he is not going to get neutered because my parents think they're trying to suck me dry of my cheddar. I understand they're (in their own way) looking out for me, but I feel indignant that I cannot make this decision for myself. Maybe I'll just continue to save up for an apartment. I actually found one that's at a really good location from my work, and my college. It even has a small shopping district nearby where I can get another job. The only problem is trying to tell my parents about it. Sometimes I wish I could just be audacious enough to just drop the mic and leave.

You will want to get the cat neutered. It's not that expensive if I recall correctly and it will save you quite a lot of hassle in the long run.

Or you could be one of those people and Facebook campaign against people who spay and neuter their pets.
Nobody likes those people.
