Things that piss you off
Re: Things that piss you off
I went to the dentist yesterday and they changed to wire in my braces and now my upper jaw feels like all my teeth are being pulled out very slowly and painfully so someone could enjoy every second of my agony and painkillers or that weird stuff that makes your mouth go numb aren't working just END MY SUFFERING
*breathe*
And I can't eat more than soft breads or else it will worsen. Woopdeedoo.

All I want to do is read comics, but nooooo. Marvel had to go and build the single least reliable web server on the face of the earth.
It's not even a big deal, it's just such a perfect mix of functional and broken that it frustrates me to no end.

Re: Things that piss you off
E-mailed a professor two weeks ago about taking private trumpet lessons, which the School of Music highly recommends I do in order to prepare for my upcoming audition. He responded saying that he personally can't teach me, since I'm not in the School of Music yet, but one of his grad students could, I just need to talk to him on the first day of school to get an override.
I bodaciously had classes all day on the first day, so I went to his office the next day and he wasn't there. I sent him another e-mail explaining the situation and asked when I could meet with him to get this sorted out. He asked me if I was the guy who came to his office on the first day of school(I'm guessing no because I SAID IN THE FUCKING E-MAIL I SENT YOU THAT I HAD CLASS ALL DAY THAT DAY), we e-mailed back and forth about fucking nothing for a while, and then he sent me an e-mail today that said that all the spots for trumpet private lessons were filled up. Oh, unless I want to pay $40-50 an hour for lessons without credits, which, since I don't have a job right now, isn't a very good option.
FUN FUCKING TIMES

Nazis annoy me. Politics annoy me. On an app I use for humor, somebody had a picture of a German soldier World War 2 saying how we killed him to let the Jews control everything. And people were fucking agreeing with him.
I had a dream which was not all a dream

Practice on your own. Find someone who is a trumpet major and ask them for suggestions on what to play. Your lessons would probably have only been 30 minutes a week anyways, with all the rest of the practice being by yourself.Marcato wrote:E-mailed a professor two weeks ago about taking private trumpet lessons, which the School of Music highly recommends I do in order to prepare for my upcoming audition. Like Riku says, practice on your own. Make some videos of you playing and post them to youtube. There seems to be a large enough community there for musicians of varying skill levels.Marcato wrote:E-mailed a professor two weeks ago about taking private trumpet lessons, which the School of Music highly recommends I do in order to prepare for my upcoming audition. I'll have to RMA my mouse due to the scroll click not working. Which is made extra dumb by the mouse's 10/10 build quality.

Re: Things that piss you off
We got super swamped tonight. We had like 10 deliveries come in during one 30 minute span, with only 2 drivers on duty. I had the people who answered the phones quote 1 hour delivery times, but I failed to notice that 2 of the orders were submitted online, meaning they didn't know about the wait time, meaning they called the store angrily wondering where their food was.
I explained everything and gave them $5 off, so I think I placated them enough to bring them from angry to annoyed but understanding. Still, it was very not fun for me. This was like Friday night levels of busy on a god forsaken Monday.

Re: Things that piss you off
Barely a week into this semester and I'm already sick of everything.
My new teachers don't explain anything, they just jump right in and go either way too fast or waste an hour on pointless stuff.
The UI class is the worst. The teacher is unsufferable and reminds me of everything I hated about university. The whole class is centered around mobile devices because Desktop Is Dead™ and that's already a bad start because I don't give a shit about mobile and using such crappy and limited form factors to learn how to make effective user interfaces is hilariously inane. After wasting two hours today, the teacher threw us a super vague assignment due next week and didn't bother telling us what he expects from us or how to achieve it or anything. The one new teacher that is actually pretty cool (he threatened to hit us with a metal mallet he brought in class) has the misfortune of teaching the one field of mathematics I hate.
Also last year every class was Linux-friendly but now two of them require Windows-only nagware so I have to use college desktops that take at least 5 minutes to boot up and then 10 to start responding because it has to generate everything every time from remote servers instead of my laptop that's already configured and has a sane keyboard scheme (C++ on a French Canadian keyboard is torture). And when I take code back to my laptop it doesn't work anymore because Microsoft.
Teachers keep interrupting everything to talk about out-of-class activities they'd like the student association to organize and I don't care.
Everyone I hung out with last year has moved on to university because not everyone can be a fuckup and waste three years of their life like me so now I'm left with people from my major and they're all varying degrees of irritating.
I can't wait for winter to be back. There's sunlight everywhere and it's too hot and I hate it.
tl;dr a bloo bloo bloo problems everybody has to deal with woe is me

I fucked my math Quiz 0 to hell because I accidentally put a few variables where they weren't supposed to be/forgot a few things in the answer but otherwise was fine. Some of it is just bad habits I have about forgetting to write in things like the integral constant.

Goddamnit, I slept through my Physics lecture because of this stupid cold.
At least it seems to be dissipating.
