This is it.

My luck has finally run out.

I haven't found a Chilling Beak all day and I need three to trade in to the Wycoon for the last piece of my Ceanataur armor and a new hammer.

It's all ogre for me.

Fixed.

Also yeah, Chilling Beaks are a mofo, I eventually just gave up trying to make the ceanataur armor parts for the early sharpness+1 set.

I can't fucking believe I didn't think of that.

Speaking of which, I kinda previewed the 5-star caravan monster by dicking around with the HR 3 guild quests and they might be my favorites so far.

Tigrex, Rathalos, Seltas Queen, Gravios, Zinogre, Brachydios..... They're all awesome.

You may the first person to ever call Gravios awesome. It's not as awful as I previously declared it, but it's still an annoying HP sponge that has very predictable attacks. For some reason I feel like giving those monsters completely pointless and overly subjective rankings.

6. Rathalos

I don't like it. Rathian is way better. That is all.

5. Gravios

As said before, tedious but not exactly bad. Can be fun once you realise the secret is to mount him as much as possible. Once his back is busted he's way less infuriating.

4. Tigrex

One of the most well-designed pre-3rd gen monsters (at least out of the ones in 4, as this is my first game in the series). Everything about tigrex is great. Its main mode of locomotion is spasming around everywhere, its roar is loud enough to kill you and the music makes you feel like you're in real danger. its subspecies may offer greater challenge, but it offers greater colours.

3. Zinogre

Okay, this is where shit starts getting good. Looks nasty, badass music, good difficulty that isn't the result of stupid bullshit, interesting charging mechanic. Very solidly designed.

2. Brachydios

One of the weirdest looking monsters of this bunch. Again, it has great music. Its moveset, like zinogre's, is almost completely original and unlike Zinogre he is very challenging. This bastard stings.

1. Seltas Queen

Holy shit do I love the Seltas Queen. It's an insect instead of another member of the neverending stream of dragons, it uses a Seltas as a hat/plane/weapon/meal, sounds like a tank and has super cool armour. It doesn't have its own music, but that's okay. At least it has music (looking at you, Khezu)

I just really like him because Basarios became one of my favorites early on and he's just a really big Basarios.

I was pretty set on the Ceanataur set as well, but chilling beaks are bullshit and you'll quickly outgrow it anyway

Just get Zamtrios' or Nerscylla's, they look rad as heck

Can you eventually multiply Bumblepumpkins at the Wyporium or is the game super mean?

I want my slutty pumpkin armor.

Pssst..... That was a HIMYM joke.

I've had a lot of luck multiplying honey and using Cathangea seeds. Just wonder if it might be faster another way though, haha.

Also I just found out how Rustshards work. This is just cruel.

It's even better in this game because unlike the third generation, you need these to make the Elder Dragon weapons for high rank

And then you need another copy if you want to make the normal Rustshard path for handy dragon weapons. Although really Gore gives you dragon element weapons much easier and they're pretty daisies baller once fully upgraded so the Rustshards aren't really worth building up unless you want Elder weapons.

Protip: Getting Gypceros Heads takes way less time if you just do the 3 star caravan quest and break his crest, then end via subquest.

Did the Wyvern egg mission, I usually don't read the subquest requirements until later.
Running away from a Rathian wasn't good for my heart, I didn't break any eggs but I was wearing Nerscylla armor so my stamina bar shrinking way too fast wasn't good for my heart.

Seltas Queen? More like BITCH QUEEN

YEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH

But yeah, she wasn't too tough.

Although she did do that weird bulldozer attack thing with the Seltas when she was almost dead and that threw me off for a second.
