Cortana is an A.I., a super computer program based on a human brain, in Cortana's case, that of the genius Doctor Halsey. As an A.I. she has absolute control over any computer, and anything it controls, she comes into contact with. She also makes an appearance in both Halo Reach, the big prequel to everything, and Halo Legends, the big Halo anime movie.

Question: If a character is from something that came out after the year 2000, but is based off of a historical figure which would mean that there would be several interpretations of that character already, would that make her an invalid choice?

If they are supposed to be the same person (as in, if they're called Roosevelt, look like Roosevelt, do Roosevelt things), then it would be an invalid choice.
If the character is just based on the historical figure in question, and is different enough that they are their own character (like Goku from Dragon Ball being based on Sun Wukong the monkey king), then it would be a valid choice.
