Actually, the absolute truth is that they had a choice between December 3rd and no Sonic, or Sonic with a delay. They opted for the latter since those waiting for Sonic would have to wait another few years for the next SSB to come out to get another chance.

And they only just started programming in Sonic, hence the long delay. Seriously, Sega just got back to them.

^^ Good point.

Methinks they found a bug in some programming they did and they gave themselves more time to fix it. (Maybe that's why Wario wasn't playable in the demo. >.>)

"Other attacks we've seen already include a floating Metroid that sucks onto battlers, a massive attack of multiple 2D Advance Wars sprites, various Pokemon, a dashing Drill Dozer attack, the Excite Bike attack (similar to the Advance Wars move), and then of course the fire flower, baseball bat, beam sword, and the like. There were multiple times within the fight where we got our butts kicked simply because we were captivated by nostalgia; priceless."

Snaps. But I bet Meta Knight will have nothing on Pokemon Trainer. And I'm liking the box art, it's classy. Now if we could only predict the final third-party character....

I'm surprised at the amount of negative feedback Sonic is getting. C'mon, what's wrong with Sonic? I remember his first game I played that was so much fun (Even though I don't remember getting past the third ish level, or even the name of it.) and if later Sonic titles have been less than stellar, so?
In fact, now that I think on it, I think that was the first true video game I ever played. (Excluding such games as Math Blaster)
Sonic is still cool.
And he totally beats Mario.

Master Cheif is totally the final third-party character.

And every one of his taunts will be that thing he does where he slaps the gun down into the palm of his hand.
Y'know. The only thing he can do.

I went and found a link in case I wasn't clear enough. He does it at 1:05.

As crazy as it may seem, I wouldn't mind a Microsoft version of SSB, hough I'm not sure how that would work. Definelty Mature rated.....Ryu Hayabusa, Master Chief, Alien Homonid, GoW characters....it could work....it some parallel dimension....

Master Chief has never been on a Nintendo console. Snake and Sonic have. Joanna Dark is a more likely character if someone from Microsoft's joining SSBB.
