well, i got my nintendo power today, and inside, is the first US review for smash bros. and what did it get? a 10/10 of course. editor and chief chris slate had much to say.
I'm ecstatic to report--in this exclusive first review of the North American version--that Brawl isn't just amazing, and it isn't just one of the best titles on Wii, but it's one of the very best games that Nintendo has ever produced.
A title this ambitious--with a talented enough team and a big enough budget to realize such sky-high goals--doesn't come to a game console very often, if ever.
The single biggest new addition to Brawl is The Subspace Emissary, a vastly expanded adventure mode that by itself is well worth the price of admission.
but honestly, is anyone surprised? To deny this game a 10 purely for the sake of shying away from the top of our review scale would be a shameful disservice to one of the greatest gaming achievments in years.

Hey, cheesy jokes are darn gouda.
You're whey out of your league.
BACK ON TOPIC: Grrarr, I keep unintentionally spoilering myself when I go to youtube, because someone is always watching a clip of SSBB and it shows it in that "Videos being watched right now" section.

What the fudge are you guys talking about?
Mewtwo, Pichu, Dr. Mario, and Roy are all cut, they are not returning. They are wastes of space.
Young Link = Toon Link now
And they will NOT be returning as downloads. DLC debunked here:

end of storyIn a recent interview, Sakurai has confirmed that no extra character will be obtainable via WiiConnect24 or other means. He even states that he doesn't think it's even possible on the Wii itself. Sakurai also mentions that no other third party companies approcahed him at all for characters.
IGN: We have to ask because there are so many rumors about this. Are there any hidden characters to come? Can you unlock more hidden fighters by way of WiiConnect24 or will you offer new downloadable content -- new fighters, for example. -- using the service?
Masahiro Sakurai: No. There are no characters that can be unlocked via connecting to WiiConnect24 or interacting in that fashion. And I may be mistaken here, but the Wii doesn't have a hard drive -- it's a disc-based system -- so I don't think we'll be doing that, I don't think it's going to happen.

There might yet be uncertainty. I don't hold to it myself, but in a recent interview on IGN about WiiWare,
-----------------------------------------
IGN: What specific Wii functionality will creators have access to when making a Wii Ware game? Can they save to SD? Can they do online? Wii Connect 24? Is it like a smaller (but full) Wii product, or is it standalone?
Prata: The Wii Ware developers will have access to the same functionality as they would a regular Wii disc game. The specifics you mentioned such as SD and online, Wii Connect 24, and episodic content is all there. They key point I want to stress though is that it isn't required. Sometimes you make a game and it's best expressed as a single player game or multiplayer game, and the advantage here is that we're leaving it to the creators to focus their resources on the areas that best express their ideas. We won't force their hand into functions or features that may or may not add value to the consumer.
----------------------------------------
Episodic content? What Wii games have Episodic content...unless it's an unreleased feature in something already out...or in something about to come out...or something just in development...yeah.
EDIT: Just found out that Sam & Max is using Episodic content...nevermind.
