But he doesn't respect mafia's looks. We all know those guys need some product or somethin

I do kind of agree that day 1 no lynching gives mafia a headstart we should avoid, though I'm not entirely comfortable going off of the little dialogue we've had and random number generator majiggies don't seem to work. I'm holding off voting until I or someone comes up with an idea or everyone just gets no-lynch-pop flyin'.

Wait I've got it! We know everyone's names, so...

I vote to lynch the joker!
Since this is garbled English, please refer to the brutal attack of confusion.

We'll also potentially lose two (or three?) town tomorrow if we no lynch today. Night Mafia kill, Joker's bomb, and then a random lynch that'll most likely be conducted by the villains.

Oh shoot, also that serial killer. Even though they have killed Bane, that doesn't guarantee them to hit a villain again.

I'd tend to agree, not lynching today would be giving the Mafia a head start (and let's not talk about Zsasz).

To be honest right now I'm more worried about the Joker and the serial killer than I am about the mafia. Sure, they have a chance to hit the mafia like Zsasz did last night, but they could also wipe us out within a few days with a few (un)lucky picks.

I know that not lynching on day one is unproductive, but I really don't know what else to do. I'll change my vote to undecided for now but something tells me this day is going to end without a lynch.

... Why worry about Zsasz more ?
I mean Zsasz and the Mafia each kill someone at night, the only difference is that he can also kill one of them, while they can only hit us.
Anyway even if Zsasz is more dangerous, not lynching will just allow him to kill one more person.
You're right, though, it's a risk, because we have no clue yet. We just have to decide if this is worth taking the risk.

Not lynching day one is primarily because, as the days go on, we get more and more material to make a decision on who is scum and who's town. On the first day, bodaciously all we have is everyone's initial dialog. What we would base future lynches on are who voted for what when, and who reacted to who saying what.

If we really wanted to gamble, one thing we can do is use the random number generator thing to pick a random person to lynch, and then see who does what about it. Who is too eager to, or not eager enough to vote depending on which role the person is. The only problem with that is we have a greater chance of hitting town, which gives the mafia an even BIGGER head start than had we just no lynched, and the mafia isn't going to be so simple as to let themselves be exposed by voting too quickly for a town, or too hesitant to vote for a fellow mafia mamber.

Mafia tactics generally include throwing each other under the bus to seem innocent when a fellow mafia member is on the block, even going so ar as to initially suspect a fellow mafia member in the first place, and refusing to vote for someone who they know will turn up town to yield the same result. The most important factor in who is mafia and who isn't is dependent on both who wants to vote for who, but more importantly, WHY. If we use a random number generator to pick someone, we don't have that because everyone's "why" is just going to be "Well the number generator thing picked them."

Going deeper, how reliable is this number generator in the first place? Who would use it? Would the DM not mind using it himself, being completely impartial, or would the idea of being that kind of interference be too much? Would one of us have to do it? Who? How would their role as either mafia or village effect it? Let's say they're mafia? What if they just pick a random villager and say the number generator picked them? If they show proof, what if they just ran the number generator enough times where it picked a villager?

Now let's say they're a villager. Certainly it would be more trustworthy, but we, as the remaining town/mafia, wouldn't know this. It would be 100% reliable, but there would be that percieved doubt, doubt that would end up throwing the block at the completely innocent villager that used the number generator if the generator picks a villager to lynch. Everyone's next reaction, especially if they're mafia, is to say "What if he was mafia and just used the number generator guise as an excuse to lynch a villager on day one!" After that, we're back to playing ignorant under the excuse "being a villager, I didn't know better" and eventually we return to normal, the difference being that now 3-4 more villagers are dead (including the night mafia kills) where before it would have just been 1-2.

Remember, our final goal isn't to try and suspect people as quickly as possible, it's to lynch between the village and the mafia with the greatest efficiency. If we're able to start suspecting people right off the bat, that's great, but there needs to be both a who and a WHY.

If you, as a villager, really want to chance suggesting a second villager get lynched because of "well we need to lynch SOMEONE!" as why, then you'd better be ready for the concequences.

Guys we cant vote a no lynch erry day now can we. The only way to get suspects is to talk a whole lot.
And the people who vote not to lynch at the very end are the most suspicious.

People who have voted no lynch in order:

Runes
Myself
Guyperson
Barabba
Ycobb
vealiin

But since you said that, the next two people it would take to hammer the lynch are even less reliable to be mafia..

The thing is, Reyo, that we do have a chance at a "why", it just won't be very strong. We're really picking the lesser of two evils here, either lynch and possibly hit town, or not lynch and let the whole barrage hit us. I'm honestly uncomfortable with both but I think, especially since we're up against three different killers, that it's smarter to strike. I just don't know who's our best bet at this point.
