Read Stephen King's On Writing; was very interesting, gives me better insight of how to write in a compelling manner. Also there were no sudden ends.

My brother-in-law lent me The Lord of the Rings, so Dante will wait. Only about a hundred pages read yet. I thought it was so serious it would be harsh to read, but it turns out to be full of humor.

Just finished "John Dies at the End"

Man I really wanted to like it, but it just kept jumping around it seemed like he was just making it confusing for the sake of it

There were also a couple unresolved plot holes that kept bugging me

That kind of blows. I'd heard a lot of good things, was thinking of looking into it.

I mean, I like the style

It's just, for me, every other page was just like "What the fuck is happening"

Does anyone else read Star Wars novels, or am I just a colossally predictable nerd?

Timothy Zahn made more sense than George Lucas ever will.

I actually prefer Drew Karpyshyn's work. I've read Darth Bane: Path of Destruction four times already. Never gets old.

Don't think I've read his. Read Anderson's, Perry's, and Stackpole's. Young Jedi, Shadows of the Empire, and X-Wing respectively.

Zahn is the only one that did not suck.

Karpyshyn was the lead writer for KotOR. Start with Path of Destruction, you will not be disappointed.
