That's not what I said though. I said
Syobon wrote:It's a fairly direct adaption of comic Batman post Miller's The Dark Knight Returns.
meaning it's grim and gritty Batman as introduced in TDKR and expanded further upon by a billion other comics.

Why do so many comedies still insist on using laugh tracks when the best ones nowadays only use them to show how stupid they were in the first place?
comedy is a complicated art, not just fart jokes all day

Because television viewers are idiots and otherwise they would have no idea where the jokes are.

Isnt it mainly a traditional left over from the days when all shows were taped in front of an audience? Hey, I may be a minority in this, and its about the only mainstream television thing I support, but having grown up with it, and being reared on American pop culture, Id miss laugh tracks, even if they are an inane and useless relic of darker days

they're also psychological, people will sometimes notice jokes, and act positively to them, but not necessarily laugh
if there's a laugh track, it triggers the same response we get to other people laughing, which is to also laugh
if you laugh at something, you're probably gonna think better of it, so people want their viewers to laugh at their shows
i doubt it's going anywhere anytime soon really, maybe it'll become less popular, but i doubt it'll just vanish entirely

So I got to the part in The West Wing where Mrs. Landingham gets killed. Taken for a ride in a feelschair and wow, Martin Sheen fucking shines in the next few episodes.

Its official, the characters on How I Met Your Mother are the biggest douchebags ever shown on television. Atleast on Its Always Sunny In Philadelphia you werent supposed to sympathize with them.

Oh crap
So this is happening. Multiple commenters on Youtube pointed out that since it's on Netflix rather than network television they may have more leeway in regards to the overall tone of each series.

Fury already has the baldness factor covered, so they'll probably give Cage a buzz-cut.
