I thoroughly enjoyed the season premiere of The Walking Dead. But, I wish we'd get a bit less talking and dialogue and a bit more "oh shit the world is full of zombies". Regardless, still fantastic.

I'm of the opposite opinion. I know every zombie movie is already essentially an examination of how humans work under stress, but this show does the best at that so far.
If the kid stays dead, I will be very impressed.

first episode was all right, but pretty uneventful
kind of disappointed that they skipped shane's death in getting back to the comic's canon

I'm not saying to strip the dialogue away altogether, but it seems (and re-watching the last 3 episodes of Season 1) that most of the screentime is just meaty dialogue and talking between characters while they stand around and argue. I know that's for the most part how it is in the comic books too, but for a TV show you can't expect someone who wants to see zombies being sliced up to just sit there and listen for 30 minutes at a time to one scene with a commercial break in-between. I just feel like the show is losing focus on what the show is actually supposed to be about. Zombies. It's almost as if they thought "So we have an hour and a half. Let's throw all the zombies for the episode in the first 20 minutes then the other 70 minutes can be them looking for the little girl, talking about religion and arguing."
Also,
Carl won't be killed. Unfortunately, he's one of the only solidified permanent characters I think Kirkman wouldn't allow to die. And, being the only "child who is always in danger" archetype in the show/comics right now with no signs of another to replace him, I doubt they'll give him up so soon. He's lasted 90 issues, being shot in the face and being surrounded by zombies on multiple occasions in the comics. I doubt he's going to die so soon in the show.

I hate 3/4 of current live-action Disney shows.
With all my heart.
