Western Cartoons/Comics
Re: Western Cartoons/Comics
If they did something like that Dwayne McDuffie's ghost would haunt them for eternity
Unfortunately it does seem true that kids are responding more to 11 minute episodic series with less overarching plot than 30 minute shows with some plot that drives the series forward
Except for Pokemon, the dub actually seems to be picking up more viewers as it's going along, but that doesn't belong in this thread teeheehee
By the way did you know Parry Gripp does Omniverse's theme song?

So now that the OVAs for Wakfu are coming out we're getting some very interesting characterization. What I found a good bit is Yugo angsting about aging more slowly. Either that or nobody has the stomach to tell him he's a midget.

Burn 'em to shreds, tear 'em to ashes.

Oh shit
Newest episode of Ben 10 Omniverse has me hyped
Hopefully Skurd sticks around 'till the finale, this is the closest we've gotten to alien fusions since that one episode of the original series

I don't know if you guys have seen Mike Tyson Mysteries, but y'all should check it out. It's a parody of sorts, of old mystery cartoons like Scooby Doo and Josie and the Pussycats, only with retired boxer and pigeon enthusiast Mike Tyson leading the group. The first episode has Tyson chasing a Chupacabra because it's the only thing he hasn't beat the shit out of.

Re: Western Cartoons/Comics
I saw the sneak peek. That fucking show.
Re: Western Cartoons/Comics
Oh, I saw the episode as part of a different "sneak peek" (on Adult Swim, not at Comic-Con) a few days before it aired. It was okay, but I feel like they went too far with the parody. Mike gets kinda ridiculous at points. The actual chupacabra part was pretty good, though, and Norm MacDonald, Rachel Ramras and Jim Rash really won me over with their characters. Here's hoping the second episode turns out a little better.
and please please make a Punch-Out! joke at some point, please

Still not really hyper comfy with the recent positive attention Tyson is getting on the comedy scene. I mean if he's turned around in recent years then absulotely more power to him, but if not then I have to assume he's still a pretty huge scumbag and people are banking on hid popularity and nostalgia.
Or, y'know, whatever.

Yes! Fusions confirmed! I knew it!
I'm so excited for the final Ben 10 Omniverse episodes.

I've heard he's really chill nowadays, he spends most of his time taking care of a ton of birds. The whole pigeon coop thing in the show is totally legit and caring for birds has been a long time hobby.Vax wrote:Still not really hyper comfy with the recent positive attention Tyson is getting on the comedy scene. Good to hear, honestly! I'm willing to give him a chance if he's shaped up a bit.

Re: Western Cartoons/Comics
It was a short on Cartoon Hangover that had a successful Kickstarter, so it was made into a full-fledged series. The first couple episodes premiered today.

Eh, I don't find Cartoon Hangover in general very amusing.
Is it a branch off of Frederator? I've been wondering that for some time, since Pendleton Ward is there and their logo is similar to the new Frederator logo.
EDIT: Google is my friend. Cartoon Hangover is Frederator's online series group.
I also found out Samurai Jack is getting a movie at an unknown point in the future, something I didn't yet know.
