Re: Western Cartoons/Comics
I think I spotted a Portal reference in today's episode of Flapjack.
Maybe. Just a little one.

Re: Western Cartoons/Comics
So DC Comics wants their Flashpoint event to be almost exactly like Crisis on Infinite Earths, the retcon event that took place in 1985, which rebooted the DC universe. Isn't that the event that Infinite Crisis and Final Crisis were supposed to be like? Those two events sure didn't change anything.
Speaking of change, comic book fans despise it. DC created new looks for their characters, and I'm pretty sure that those new looks will be gone pretty quickly. "The more things change, the more they stay the same" is almost a concrete truth in the comic book industry.

Burn 'em to shreds, tear 'em to ashes.
Re: Western Cartoons/Comics
Don't comic books retcon like hell regardless of whatever event is going on? I mean they don't even seem to have set writers, so their continuity is all over the place.
Stuff goes here later.

Depending on the character.Madican wrote:Don't comic books retcon like hell regardless of whatever event is going on? I mean they don't even seem to have set writers, so their continuity is all over the place.
Iron man has changed a ton, but only for relevance to the current times.
The green hornet hasn't changed much since it was a 1930s radio show.

Yeah. I like to see superheroes beat the crap out of supervillains, but I don't care about editorial mandates that erase certain things or characters, or overarching events.
