I think the latter, since, if you use the correct biological words, the trolls and kids are two different species, whereas land and sea trolls appear to be the same species but different races.Mr. Mander wrote:Hmm
Unite the Two Races
Does the mean Trolls/Kids or Land Trolls/Sea Trolls?
I dunno for sure though, for two races to belong to the same species they must be able to reproduce with each other and their offspring has to be able to reproduce as well, and those are things we don't know (fortunately).

The 413 thing has been pretty much outright stated from the beginning.RikuKyuutu wrote:As sad as it is, I totally didn't even think of that. most of the "extra" information that I get is what Sloth tells me after he reads this magical thing somewhere.Le Great Handsome Oppressor wrote:Or, you know, you could read what he says on his formspring and see that he does all that on purpose
But really, though, I doubt that he had ALL of these details planned out from the beginning. I would think that a few of them were just kind of coincidental, so he rolled with it and then expanded on them.
Like, when he started Homestuck over because making every page with flash was too difficult, he mentioned that the "important numbers" or whatever changed from 410 to 413, since it started on April 13th rather than the 10th.
Originally, Homestuck was about four 10 year olds, but due to that three day delay they are all 13.
One of the reasons I don't find the 413 thing interesting is because it's just too obvious (since Andrew has talked about it so often) and it doesn't really seem to mean anything. If it were something the author was silent about and the fans picked up on, it would probably be a lot cooler.
You are correct in that a lot of stuff isn't planned out, though. Apparently, the way he pulls off that amazing foreshadowing is by making events that refer to past events. Like reverse foreshadowing. Except it looks like the normal kind.

If something I say offends you, it was probably a sarcastic joke.

I just feel it add a new element to the story that you don't see often in popular media.
Or is it like, friendship-y hatched and not redrom hatched.
