But, re: romance. I view it, at least with Kanaya, to show kids growing up. Hussie can't really do it with the kids cause, aren't they all from the same gelatinous goo, or something? So the troll kids are kinda going through the romance part as part of growing up.

Didn't Karkat say that he was the one to have to send all the babies/grubs back like John did? idk the trolls are already incestual so I guess it doesn't matter.

Hussie said something on the forum about if Rose was awake while John was in her house there might have been a romantic thing going on or something.

I thought the 4 segment thing was easy enough to understand. Top is positive romance, bottom is negative romance. Left is romance with the intention of procreation (i.e., love), right is platonic friendship.

I keep thinking Rose and Dave are related, and Jade and John are related

because they look similar

The way they are arranged here implies that Dave is Grandma+Bro which just doesn't seem right at all. maybe Rose and Dave are the same mix but different genders bluh bluh i have no clue

Rose and Dave are a combination of Rose's Mom and Dave's Bro

John and Jade are a combination of John's Grandma and Jade's Grandfather.

The only thing that bugs me is John's dad.
He is the son of a woman made by ectobiology and some normal human.
Is this what causes his insane strength?

Romance is an element of storytelling Hussie hasn't utilized until now. I mean, yes technically he can pair up John x Jade or something but it would be strained since the kids don't interact face to face that often. Maybe it's because I'm a writer-fag and love romance stories but these different interactions of the trolls through there more elaborate system of affection gives the story more meat and thus makes it more interesting. I don't think you could even have a story that has 12 different people and not include even a hint of romance.
