Just because of that, I'm gonna keep harping about it now.
I wanna read a webcomic, not a romance novel.
We get it; trolls are sadistic fucks.
When is this supposed to be entertaining?

Funny =/= Entertaining
I'm not busting a gut at every page or anything like that. I don't remember each new page inspiring that reaction anyway, just the ocassional gem (Dave ==> Rose conversation after Dave gets covered in Smuppets for example). Really, nothing's changed for me. I love Hivebent, from the deeper and more 'serious' plot development to the hilarious callbacks and scribble-images, and like I said before, I think it'd be great if the story was expanded upon at the conclusion of Homestuck.
Besides that, I don't think the whole "Troll Romance" thing is sadistic, as you described it. Just far removed. I'm still eagerly awaiting the reveal of Nepeta's shipping wall (or rather the recreation of it if it was destroyed by the cave in). This statement actually confused me a bit:

The entire story is made up. It's a work of fiction. Is your gripe merely with the fact that some of the Trolls now have more complex relationships, i.e. Romance? Similar relationships were present between the 4 kids, so it's not an entirely new concept. Is it the fact that it involves a lot of writing and explanation, and you don't like reading? Homestuck has always been about reading anyway. Half if not more of the humour is in the pesterlogs, and most of said logs are far, far longer than the images they are linked to.
Obviously this is all just my opinion, but it seems like you expect Homestuck to be a gag comic and nothing more. If that's all it was, it would have lost it's appeal to me (and maybe others too) months ago.
tl;dr The Homestuck kids can wait, Hivebent's an excellent diversion. Enjoy it for what it is.

Hivebent was fine until WHELP EVERYONE IS IN LOVE WITH EVERYONE NOW. It just feels like Hussie is driving away everyone but hardcore fans and shippers.
And all this romance just seems forced. I mean, the story could easily be just as good without it.

Okay then stop reading

But I still like it. :T I just want to see what happens next, not which trolls hook up with each other.
But knowing Hussie, this'll all be important somehow. -.-

Okay. I missed the point. What is the point then? To provide development for characters we probably won't even see again?

Did you even
read the story so far?

Yes. After Hivebent, we probably won't even see/hear from them again. Unless I missed some tiny detail vaguely foreshadowing their return that no one would notice or connect with anything unless you're part of the MSPA community hivemind.

Did you notice how they were talking to the kids in the previous arcs (you know, the long and numerous pesterlogs in which they vaguely tell them about the upcoming threats and/or try to kill them by making them fight their denizens) and will probably keep on talking to them in order to help them/screw with them in the future, or were you too busy watching the fancy animations?

The trolls can't talk to the kids after that "Rift" phenomenon. And do I sense some hostility in your text? D:

It doesn't mean they won't interact with them any more. So far, apart from making the gain some sweet loot by creating a timeline in which John was dead, Dave was even more of a badass and came back to the present, they achieved pretty much nothing. It wouldn't make sense to extensively introduce 12 new, interesting characters to completely ditch them one arc later. It's pretty obvious they'll still have an important part to play. Thinking about it, maybe they'll have an important part without any more interactions with the kids, or not until some time anyway. But from my point of view, it's obvious they will have an important part in the two following arcs.
Oh and I didn't mean to sound hostile. Maybe I should've added

to the end of my previous post.
