Persia — Wait, Isn't That Iran?
All this muscular silliness is about as politically correct as the song in Disney's Aladdin that called Arabia a place "where they cut off your ear if they don't like your face/ It's barbaric, but hey, it's home." Iranian Americans have complained that no one in the huge cast is ethnically Persian, a protest that the Islamic Republic of Iran may soon echo. And Stephen Colbert, noting some facial similarities between the film's star and a certain prominent Iranian, fulminated that "once again, Hollywood is giving aid and comfort to our enemies, by glamorizing the life story of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmajakegyllenhaalijad."

In fact, Prince of Persia gives political aid and comfort only to those who opposed the U.S. occupation of Iraq. King Sharaman's raid is based on intelligence from Nizam indicating that the country harbors a weapon of mass destruction (the dagger with its time-traveling sands). It doesn't take a conspiracy theorist to see Nizam as a Snidely Whiplash version of Dick Cheney and the sands of time as a wish by filmmakers — and perhaps Cheney's old colleagues — that we could turn on the Wayback Machine and undo the damage the 2003 invasion caused the U.S. and Iraq. Prince is thus Hollywood's latest attempt, after Green Zone, to find a fantasy solution to a real, tragic dilemma.

As someone who hasn't read Scott Pilgrim (whoops, there goes my credibility), the movie looks a bit kitsch.

I watched How To Train Your Dragon a few days ago. It's cute, I guess. I didn't laugh, I wasn't surprised, but I was in the mood and I enjoyed it. The music is nice.
Now I need to watch a 2:30 Iñárritu, fun times.

Watched Shrek: Forever after. It was good, but seeing the Despicable Me trailer in 3D was just so awesome.

29 days until The Twilight saga:Elsiplce(I don't care that I spelled it wrong) comes to our theater. FFFF

And this is going to keep happening. EVERY TIME the Twilight craze begins to die out, they'll release the NEXT MOVIE in the series. AUGH.

I'm just thankful that the Twilight fangirls in my school have been keeping relatively quiet.

Except for their stupid blood drive poster thingie. They were all, "OOH IT DOESN'T MATTER IF YOU'RE TEAM EDWARD OR TEAM JACOB DONATE BLOOD LOL"

I wanted to cry in despair when I saw that.

I wish JK Rowling had made just one more Harry Potter book.

Then no one would have gone looking for "The Next Harry Potter" and this Twilight crap would have never happened.

Actually saw prince of persia today, as someone who has not played the prince of persia games...Even though I really should....anyway, I thought it was a pretty enjoyable movie, though they did go a little overboard with the weird camera pans and angles.

Oh man I want to see Prince pf Persia.

But my parents are cheap and don't want to go to the movie theater.

So I have to wait for it to come out on Netflix.

Personally I hate going to theaters, and going today reminded me why, there was some 80 year old man in a wheelchair who came with his family, and he was leaning on the back of my friends chair and laughing at very inappropriate parts, and kept asking if people were dead when they fell down with a knife in their chest.
There are a lot of knives in people's chests so he was asking this a lot.
We didn't want to say anything because we were pretty sure he was retarded or something.

And the terrible, overpriced food made some of us sick, myself included

Thankfully, most of the times I've been in theaters they've been relatively empty.

That, or I was there for a field trip with my class and they were sitting there in a bored comatose state during a movie about volcanoes.

I found volcanoes very interesting.

Agreed. I'm okay with Twatlight, but I don't see what the big buzz is about. (In other words, I'm a meh on Twilight)The only sane character is Alice. If not for her, I wouldn't like the series at all.

I just watched Harry Potter 6. Lived up to the book and my expectations

Anyway, SUPPOSEDLY Rowling is supposed to be writing The Life and Lies of Albus Dumbledore.

I wanna read it.....................so bad! :pseudo:

I'm amazed at how quickly they're churning out the Twilight movies.

Maybe the people making them just want to get it over with.
