Movies
The trailer made it look like it would be a heart-racing psychological thriller, which it really wasn't. Its idea of getting in your head is turning off the soundtrack (which kinda sucked as it was the same song over and over) from time to time. The uncomfortable atmosphere that most thrillers should have was there, but for the completely wrong reason. YOu were uncomfortable watching it because it was so choppily edited and boring. The pace was ridiculously slow, the acting was just 'meh', and the 'twist' at the end was so ridiculously easy to call, I wanted to scream. The exposure also changed every time the film reel changed. Maybe that has something to so with "Shutter" in "Shutter Island", but it's just jarring, especially when it happens right in the middle of a scene. The green screen effects were laughably bad, and there were some scenes where I could have sworn I saw a very faint outline around the actors as they were standing in front of the screen (Sign of bad green-screening).
You would have thought that with people so talented involved, it would have been great. Well...that's wrong.

I've heard about that. My brother saw it and was visibly shaken by just how fucked up that movie turned out to be. I hate misrepresentation in trailers.Heartwielder wrote:if you've ever seen that movie Bridge to Teribithia, watching the commercial made it look like it was full of magic and creatures and things, I watched it, and the extent of the magic in the movie was in the commercial

I had also heard that. From what I understand, the movie doesn't follow the book that closely. In the book, doesn't one of the little kids die right off the bat and the other creates this world in a fit of depression? I feel like it's something along those lines. Would you mind filling me in?Mr. Mander wrote:If either of you had actually read the book you'd be even more disappointed.

My parents bought tickets for the family to go out and see alice in wonderland tomorrow. please tell me it isn't a horrible movie because I really don't want to watch it.
or at least recommend something I can beg to watch instead because I don't keep up with movies so I don't know what's good and what's bad.
