Possession is Sam Neill's third movie. He plays a Belgian ex-spy who beats his wife; who, later in the film, has an on-screen miscarriage. There is also a tentacle-sex scene. This movie is fucking fantastic. I've watched it four times now and I find a new layer to it each time.
