I was describing an archetype of individual I did not want to be recognized as.

EDIT- I wouldn't call this sort of thing racism, since I highly doubt Shyamalan is claiming that white people are better. Perhaps that they are simply more marketable.

I don't know why this is such a big deal. The "cultural" aspect of the show is a joke. It's got about as much Asian culture as Rocko's Modern Life had Australian culture.

You're kidding, right? The cultural aspect was why I liked the show.

The use of Chinese writing, the Asian aesthetic used for paintings and whatnot, the subtle application of different angles of Asian religion and philosophy, and a whole mess of other things were more than just "a joke".

Even the small things that most people don't get, such as the idea that bending is different than magic is significant.

It's watered down childish crap. It's heavily centric on Chinese and Japanese culture, maybe at a stretch with some North Korea in the mix. These three countries do not make up asia. I've been majoring in Asian Anthoropology for two years now, am I going to have to start posting essays?
