Level 58 wizard. Just beat Diablo on Hell. Unlocked inferno (need to be 60 to access it). Have done all of Act 1 and 2 on Hell, but only the bosses in 3 and 4.

I have about 11500 dmg fully self buffed and 4100 hp (not a typo).

Wizards are probably the most broken class in the game post level 54 atm. DH can get pretty crazy with that smoke screen, but I don't know much about that.

All I know is that I am nearly invincible as long as I don't take fast damage. It is totally going to get nerfed. The fact that I can focus completely on damage and have 0 vitality on any gear and still be able to take multiple hits from baddies is broken.

If you don't know how this is done, let me explain.

At level 54, Wizards get a rune called Force Armor for their Energy Armor skill. It says that if you would take more than 35% of your hp in dmg, you instead take 35% of you hp. This means you can never be 1 shot. Now with 0 vitality, a wizard has around 4500 hp. This means the maximum hit they can possibly take is about 1600 damage. Now already this seems sorta powerful, since theoretically with enough lifesteal or hp regen you can almost never die. Since youll never take more than 1600 dmg, if you can regen that quickly, you will never be able to be killed.

However, getting that much lifesteal/regen is kinda difficult and could hurt your damage output. Lucky for us, wizards have this skill called Diamond Skin. This absorbs 10k dmg (at level 60) and lasts 6 seconds with a 15 second cd. You can run it to double the absorb damage, or increase the time to 8 seconds (when added with the cooldown reduction passive, it has a downtime of only 5 seconds). The reason this is broken is because when you get hit, the damage is first reduced by the energy armor, and then absorbed by the shield. Therefore you, who is always getting hit for about 1600 or less, is then having that damage be absorbed by this shield. This shield can absorb 10-20k dmg which is about 10-20 hits. Meaning while this shield is up, you are pretty much invincible. The only way past it is by dots, fast hitting mobs, or lots of mobs which can hit you so many times that the shield is used up and you die. For slow hitting mobs, or bosses, you can pretty much solo them. This is how the final boss was soloed on inferno.

I know it seems strange, but yeah you can totally find the Library of Fate in the Gardens of Hope

It's a weird place for a library, I know

Unfortunately, they nerfed force armor today in a hotfix. Wish they would put out patch notes for huge changes like this.

Seriously though, can you actually block in monsters using a wall made out of dropped items?

I can't say I've noticed mobs being blocked by items, I'm pretty sure they just walk over them

The game's kind of doing its best to piss me off right now. First it timed me out after I bought a nice chest for 30k, meaning I lost the cash but didn't get the item, and now it's giving me 200ms ping against Diablo, meaning I get teleported to those god daisies spike traps.

This shit's so dumb it deserves a double post.

Who's a retard? I am! It took me two playthroughs to find out what elective mode ACTUALLY did. I thought it was there just to allow you to move your skills around the action bar, but turns out it allows you to assign any skill to any key, as opposed to being limited to one skill from one "tree". The Diablo fight got considerably easier after I replaced my nearly useless arrow rain ability with Preparation.

Yeah, that's my one main gripe about the game. It should have at least mentioned that elective mode exists.

Wait, does that mean I'll be able to Melee with my Witch Doctor? Like I could in a few clicks in DII?

I'm not sure what you mean, do witch doctors have a melee skill? Because what I meant was that you can bind any available skill to any slot in the action bar, rather than being able to pick only 1 out of 3 or 4.

I only wanted to use my knife... So I guess I'll have to stick with blowing darts and throwing frogs at anyone near me.

You can technically melee with your witch doctor if you take off whatever skill you have set to your right click since when you first start you do get a melee skill. If you drag whatever is occupying that stop you'll reveal your melee skill. It doesn't add damage to whatever your weapon damage is but you'll be able to melee.
