Those guys will drop in usefulness yes, but the real point is you'd be playing something with annihilator/huge power on turn 4.

But I have to wonder how this would work with counter spells, since you're not actively casting it.

Counters counter spells being cast. Since you're not casting them, they don't go onto the stack and they can't be countered.

I think. Don't quote me on that.

Traded my brother a few vampires for his timbermaw larva. I'd say it was a good trade, especially for the larva, since it went from a deck that shared a type with swamp to a pure forest deck, so it has more forests to get super strong.

man that card would go so well in my jace's erasue deck. much better than the basic jace I already have in there at least.

honestly i'm thinking of re-working that deck to fit the teferi's puzzle box I got in there instead, since that card is much more fun. i don't even know what it is but I love that feel of semi-randomness it brings.

oh also won two dollars and a rare card in a game of Three for All

Army of self propagating Myrs? Check. Two Galvanizers? Check. Darksteel forge? Check.

Victory? Check.

Well that was an interesting match. Mono blue deck vs. mono blue deck. I had guard gomazoa, and a bunch of creatures with moderately high defense but little to no attacking power, and my brother didn't have anything capable of surpassing my defenses. I also had hedron crab, tome scour, my brother had reckless scholar, etc, so there was a lot of cards going into the graveyard.

Somewhere around 2/5ths in, I attacked with what creatures I had, and played a card that decreased the opponent's creature's attack, so he couldn't kill any of my creatures. He used cancel. I used cancel. He used cancel AGAIN (He had three in his hand at the point).

I eventually won when he ran out of cards in his library, due to my constant burning of his cards, although he also burned a lot of my good cards that would have allowed me to win through sheer force, instead of sitting behind my guard gomazoa.

And then a little before that match, I managed to kill my brother through poison counters, by attacking repeatedly with blackcleave goblin, and killing anything he summoned to defend with spells.

traded in a jace beleren and ancient tomb to my LGS, gave them a dollar and got 3 2012 packs.

ended up getting a markov, which honestly I like more than standard jace and even if I didn't I made my cheddar back at least.

also a coupla other cards I like, from another looter for my favorite deck to this thing, which I'll probably never use but I just love cards with effects to that... uh, effect. kinda wish I had the others but that's life.

I drew a Chandra and 3 of her Phoenix from a fatpack yesterday, which went straight into my red burn deck. I'd love to run it this weeks FNM but I have a green beatdown (still no Garruk though) I need to test. Either way, I'm loving the 2012 stuff

Also, Innistrad this fall seems to have a haunted theme as well as bringing more graveyard play into the game, so it should be interesting

I'm so fascinated with EDH Magic. 99 card singleton decks with a general. I haven't played a game of EDH so far that I didn't enjoy. I've so far got two EDH decks: Godo, Bandit Warlord and Vhati il-Dal.

My store is planning a few Commander games in the coming months, and considering how well the pre-constructed decks sold, we should be seeing a nice turnout.

I'll be running slivers in at least one of them though >:D

Which Sliver is your general? Overlord, Queen, or Legion?

I'd probably use Overlord, he can search my deck for the other two and whatever else I'd need, as well as pair up well with this to steal things

Good luck in your tournament with that then. The Overlord is a good choice. :3

What kind of commander decks are you used to seeing?
