Re: fucking magnets: The Gathering
Wait, MIRRODIN or the last Mirrodin Besieged set? Cuz holy crap, that's a long time.
Also, if it makes you feel any better, I usually have to buy decks for my friends to play, aside from the ones that actually taught me how to play.

pssst I'm a guy.
But yeah I know. I don't know all these fucking rules I was reading about. Like Plainswalkers and loyalty points. whaaaattt
I'd mostly just play for funsies anyways, though.

If you have nerdy friends, rest assured you should be able to get them interested. At the very least, you can play online with us.Chekt wrote:I kinda want to get back into this game, but that would mean investing cheddar, and I have nobody to play with. Grrrrrr
maybe I can convince Tuxedo Mask to start playing, if I buy his cards for him.
I'll probably go out and my some booster packs or something just for shits and giggles at the least. The last set that I played with was I think Mirrodin, haha.

Re: Magic: The Gathering
I meant we play physically, and IM our actions to our opponent, trusting each other to be honest.Chekt wrote:There is online playing now? Sweet

My bad. Though, now that I've made the mistake, I'm going to start saying 'dayum gurl' to everyone, regardless of gender.Chekt wrote:pssst I'm a guy.

And my friends and I are all super casual about it. I hate playing at comic shops, cuz everyone takes it way too seriously.

Re: Magic: The Gathering
I remember going to tourneys at a local card shop as a kid, and yeah, everyone was way to serious about it for my tastes.
Not to mention the creepy old guys.

Re: Magic: The Gathering
I don't now why I have all these cards, I never go out to the comic shop to play (and like you all said even if I did i'd probably run away instantly at the sight of so much serious business-types) and I don't really have any friends to play with.
I kinda wish I could transfer my collection to MTGO, then i'd start playing that at least.

Re: Magic: The Gathering
are you building a deck around that or just putting that into a deck and seeing what happens
because I think it'd be easier to just use elvish piper.

Re: fucking magnets: The Gathering
Normally I'd say go with Elvish Piper, too, but it depends on the strategy you're using.
If your focus is Artifacts, stick with the Transmuter so you don't have to splash green.
If your focus is Infect, DEFINITELY go with Elvish Piper. You can still keep the blue and do really well, since blue is heavy on Proliferate this block. But infect doesn't really work without green or black.

Was waiting till my birthday to get a big deck box, but I don't think I can wait that long. I'm not sure if I can wait until the next time we go to walmart.
