Jesus Christ I might have to come back to Minecraft once this update goes completely live.

Re: The Big Ol' Minecraft Thread!
thisll be really handy in servers when people want to give each other stuff really quickly.
person a is in their house says "hey dude here have this thing" and puts the thing in the ender chest in their house
person b a million miles away deep in their mountain home opens their ender chest and are like "oh boy"
a whole new way to be lazy

I'm pretty sure the contents of the chest are going to be associated with the player, otherwise they'll only work as a really sketchy trade network.

They are intentionally not related to the player.KA-DOOM wrote:I'm pretty sure the contents of the chest are going to be associated with the player, otherwise they'll only work as a really sketchy trade network.

I'll run a multiplayer version of this update on my computer if anyone wants to join it, I'll get it setup now.

The contents are not player-specific on SMP. All chests share the same contents and can be accessed by anyone[2].
By default, each server has one persistent Ender Chest inventory. This means that the player can not find an Ender Chest utilizing a different inventory of items than another.
Ender Chests could potentially be used a sort of mailbox on multiplayer servers, where a Written Book would be used as the mail.

Re: The Big Ol' Minecraft Thread!
Ever since I updated my Minecraft to 12w21a,
I load a singleplayer world and seem to get a weird glitch where all the terrain is deleted an I am left with an empty void for a world.

This seems to occur the second time I load the save...
Does anyone know how to fix this?

Re: The Big Ol' Minecraft Thread!
The forum post for the snapshot says it corrupts any old worlds loaded. That's probably it.

This was a save I created today....Lord Retardus wrote:The forum post for the snapshot says it corrupts any old worlds loaded. That's probably it.
I might re-apply the .jar, hopefully that will clear it up.

Is there any way to aquire the full version through some sort of point of credit program? Im having a huge craving to play this game finally and every time I get enough spare cash to purchase it something comes up and I more or less spend or lose the cheddar.

Yeah, I have a "special" version you can use.TheOtherMC wrote:Is there any way to aquire the full version through some sort of point of credit program? Auto-updates so you don't gotta worry about that.
However you won't be able to connect to servers that have "online mode" set to ON

Re: The Big Ol' Minecraft Thread!
How exactly does that restrict it?
