AWKWARD ZOMBIE

I need tech help.

I was playing minecraft multiplayer at my friends house no problem. I get home and it runs like shit. Everyone moves extremely slowly for me, it takes 10-15 seconds for chests to open, and blocks reappear after smashing them. It is NOT hardware related. I an run minecraft just fine, but it is a connection problem. I tried connecting to the AZ server but I got timed out. I'm just lagging time wise behind everyone. Its not choppiness, I move around fine. I tried plugging in my Ethernet cable directly into my laptop, but the same thing happened. I don't know what to do. I doubt its my internet speed, its run Xbox Live and other online games fine. Are there any settings for my internet I can change? Ports to open? Something, please.

I usually have graphics fast, and the fog short. Other than that, learn to deal with it, I'm sorry to say.

Its not a graphics problem. I can run it I've been running it all day and yesterday.. Its just suddenly my internet is giving me latency/slow down lag issues. It worked great at my friend JP's house, and at my friend Dale's house. Its nothing you can "deal with" either, its impossible to play in its condition. Everyone else moves so slow they're almost at a standstill.

I think Minecraft just takes up a LOT of bandwidth. XBox Live also seems to be really efficient with bandwidth, I play fine on any game, but as soon as I try to hop onto anything on PC, I get kicked for having too high a Ping almost immediately.
Granted, Minecraft hasn't done that to me yet, so I'm not sure, but that could be the issue.

I was almost sort of enlisted to help with an Indie XBox game for a bit, and I recall overhearing that XBox games are limited to only 1MB/S for multiplayer, including voice. So yeah, XBox is definitely really efficient with its bandwidth.


And your problem is almost definitely internet speed if other people are lagging, but I'm not an expert on this in the slightest.

Other people aren't, so I guess its just my internet. Whatever the reason, it seems to try to limit stuff (like this, or Xbox Live) when I connect up to it. I dunno if I can fix that or not.



Quick speed test from my desktop. It'd be the same for the laptop I'd think since I had tried playing while the desktop's ethernet was plugged into the laptop.

I tried and couldn't get it to work, but wasn't really motivated to try since it was just a matter of walking over to my PC to do it.
The problem is that the game can't bring up the menu, right? I'd imagine it would work if you sleuthed up the internet a bit and found the filepath for the texture pack folder.

Odds are those paper lanterns instead of torches.
