It's like they're waving a giant dick in front of you and they're saying, "Go ahead and play with this dick, it's all ready to go,"
but then you reach out to grab it and it's just a hologram of a dick. -Exeres

World seed "gargamel" (entering world seeds with letters converts them to numbers and uppercase and lowercase get different numbers so world seeds are case sensitive) puts you in the best spawn ever and everyone should try it.
I mean, this is what you see when you dig yourself out of your spawn spot:

"gargamel" is an "absolute spawn" seed. That is, you spawn in the same place every time at x:.5 and z:.5
Here's another from the MC forums:
The seed is "Atticus".
So many good seeds, eh?

This is a slow sell, but it will be worth it.
First of all, this seed is awesome for anyone who wants giant biomes. The initial biome is snow, rolling hills, lots of iced-over water and extremely sparse trees. This goes on for as far as the eye can see, and in some directions, much further. You will spawn at 0,0, because there is sand under the snow there, and I walked WELL past 500, 500 before seeing more than some occasional pine trees or pine forests to break things up.
Walking the other direction, in the -,- quadrant, the snow will end much sooner. Somewhere around -250, -300 (or vice versa, maybe, doesn't matter), the ice dramatically ends. I swam across the water towards some bluffs and forests.
The bluffs turn to mountains, and they are HIGH mountains. There are a few sheer cliffs, but also a lot of easy to climb sloped sides. At the top of one mountain is a forest which is right at the cloud level. Some trees are chopped off at the top, at the map limit.
If you want to make the journey, you are heading towards roughly -540, -940. In the middle of the forest, there is a hole, with clouds passing through it, blocking your view. Travel down the hole.
This is the view from the bottom.

The seed is "Atticus".
So many good seeds, eh?

I love gargamel
It's so dark that mobs spawn constantly
I have taken it upon myself to protect the people of Gargamel from the green menace

Going through the cave at the end of the gargamel valley puts you under a massive overhang.

That sky-blue hole is the valley.

Turned around from taking the screenshot of the overhang.

Standing on a sandy mountain, looking back at the overhang. The small tower in the middle of the picture had sand sticking out of the top (a few screenshots up) which I made fall. :>

My friends and I are planning to make our own mod to dick with a friend starring Herobrine. basically gonna make him spawn after a random number of minutes of playtime, directly behind the player, and when the player turns around to see him it makes a garbled variation of a ghast damage scream. It is guaranteed to freak him the fuck out.
Anyway we spend like the entire 30 minute drive from Tuxedo Mask's mom's house talking about our plans for the mod and how much the Herobrine creepypasta creeped us out and how freaky it'd be to have him just kind wandering around and cause immediate fog etc etc and apparently it freaked me out more than I thought because I've been playing for the past couple of hours exploring bedrock-level caves riddled with lava beds, zombies and creepers and between the mobs and the FUCKING HORROR MOVIE AMBIENT SOUNDS I was pretty much pissing myself.
In fact I just went downstairs for a snack before bed and was creeping around my house and starting at every odd noise the animals made.
I think I need sleep ahahaha

Making a glass tower in the sky. Not sure how tall it's going to be yet, but it's high enough to almost hit the clouds. Laid a foundation of cobblestone I'll be destroying once the tower is done, so it's completely glass. Trying to find some glowstone so there's a light source in the tower.
And at the very top, above the cloud layer if that's possible in Minecraft, I will have a Quest Bed.

Stuff goes here later.

Re: The Big Ol' Minecraft Thread!
So a new block was added to terrain.png in Beta 1.3.

It closely resembles Obsidian, but it's still unknown as what it might be. It also appears to be a Sandstone texture modified to look like Obsidian. There is no indication yet as to whether this texture will be implemented in the future.
