Try opening it in Paint and mousing around that way?

yeah I downloaded it, its saved as a png though.
But photo viewer says its not supported, or its out of date or some shit.

If you want to see what our map looks like, but you won't be able to do much with this one.
I guess the reason why the other one is so huge is because you can zoom in and out and the picture will not be effected.

since the map is bigger than it was last time, im assuming it shows us the parts of the world we have actually seen, and not the entire world

Well... I guess how the game works is, as you explore more, the game creates the land. The map will grow as you explore more and more, and it generated on the spot by the seed generated in game.
So if you want to see all the blank spots, you need to go there yourself and make the game generate the land.
