I remember people bitching about the Phantom Sword and the Lokomos sword (especially the latter since you're just given it) because they were "obvious replacements for the Master Sword" which couldn't be used in the WW timeline because it was at the bottom of the ocean. So they're damned if they do and damned if they don't, and trust me, there'd be a shitload of butthurt going on if Link got a similar Master Sword replacement in the sequel to the game that introduced the Master Sword to begin with.
And frankly, ALttP's backstory was retconned with OoT. Ganondorf didn't accidentally happen upon the Sacred Realm with his band of thieves, he tailed Link and found the entrance in the Temple of Time, alone.
Plus, the backstory implies that he got the whole Triforce then and there, when he really just got a part of it and had to beat down Link and Zelda to get the others.
So I doubt Nintendo is too worried about smudging the truth of the ending of ALttP.

To be honest, I never really liked the name "Termina" much either. It seems rather unimaginative compared to names like Koholint, Labrynna, and Holodrum. Even then, I still think Termina (a name that actually has some sort of remotely interesting meaning to it and sounds like something that could be taken seriously) is a better name than Lorule (which just sounds like a bad joke I'd hear out of the cartoon).

Just because they've retconned stuff before doesn't make retconning okay. Retroactive continuity is a lazy escape method that a writer resorts to when he's written himself into a corner and isn't clever enough to find a better way out. It alone may not be enough to ruin a story, but it is never a good thing.
You could argue that maybe Hyrule's historical records aren't necessarily all that accurate, which might address the confusion between those two games, but they already royally screwed up with their explanation of how Ocarina of Time leads into A Link to the Past. I've already gone over that, though, as has everyone else.

Not saying it's right, but honestly, retcons in Zelda has happened since ALttP (which was a prequel to the first 2 Zelda games, yet ends with the destruction of Ganon, Also, all of the princesses were named Zelda before the Sleeping Zelda was cursed and supposedly started the tradition). It's just what happens when they try to fit these games in without overthinking addressing all of the points.
Also, if we go the route of this all being the stories told by Hylians, how the hell would they even know if the Master Sword was never pulled out of the pedestal ever again?

My excuse is that Zelda never had a canon other than the goddesses, the triforce, etc i dunno

That's generally my take on it.
I always considered each Zelda game to exist in its own separate universe anyway (unless it was a blatant sequel) - so needing to tie the games together with a linked continuity/canon never really meant a great deal to me.

I just had fun making my own timeline. I dont really feel the need to bother with the official one.
Sides, its fun trying to figure out Master Sword theory

I just like playing the games. Even if I never finish most of the ones I start. Seriously, I have Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword just sitting around half-done. At least in Wind Waker and Ocarina of Time I'm just dicking around looking for Pieces of Heart before I fight Ganondorf.

It's the best.
dungeons seem kinda small, but they're basically more compact and well thought out rather than just being masses of rooms.
I also like that they specifically cockblock certain strategies that you think of to get around or solve puzzles differently.

Funny you say that, because I beat a boots puzzle with the bombs. Granted, I only did this because I am an idiot who could not figure out how to get the boots until after my first dark world dungeon.

Wait, how the fuck did you do that?
I mean, I used bombs too, but that was to give me enough time to actually complete the puzzle.
It still took me like 20 goddamn minutes.
Also,
fuck the ice temple forever. If you have problems with the giant penguin miniboss, like me, just remember to keep moving. If they put you in a corner, you're dead. just keep running and make them run through your Fire Rod.
And so far I really like that
The Helmasaur King apparently has a fanatical cult around him. When he's a goddamn giant lizard that doesn't even seem sentient.

Well, I've just made it into Low Rule, and so far, I'm somewhat entertained, but I'm not enthralled and not even remotely impressed. It's just coming across as really mediocre.
The dungeons are disappointingly short and insultingly easy, the bosses range from bad to okay, and the overworld (though we knew it would be like this) is so small that I almost feel a bit claustrophobic. I have yet to see a single character I care about and what little story they shoved in here is about as bland as you can get. The game is just pandering way too much to nostalgia to the point where I actually find it somewhat insulting. The graphics are kinda nice, but I have yet to hear a single memorable piece of music that wasn't copy-pasted from A Link to the Past, and even a few of those pieces sound kind of botched. The controls are really good, and the items are used well.
Of course, I will finish the game. I just hope it improves from here, because it REALLY needs to.
By the way, is it just me, or do those save points sound an awful lot like R2D2? I know they're supposed to sound like birds, and I don't mind them sounding like R2D2, but the similarity is there.

Shit why didn't I think of that.
Edit: Also apparently you can randomly find Golden Bees? I'm not sure if you had to buy one first though.
