Re: The Legend of Zelda
Zelda 2 as a game isn't absolutely horrible, it CAN be beaten, it's just absurdly hard, and requires grinding, but it was still rather innovative for its time, it did the same thing as Castlevania and Ninja Gaiden, but added RPG elements, I don't know many games that did that before for the NES.

I'm using savestates because otherwise there is an obscene amount of walking due to them archaic design sensibilities
The combat is really good tho

Re: The Legend of Zelda
It's basically the two games mentioned before but with actual control than strutting.
Then again, Strutting is a part of Castlevania
gotta strut fast

You forgot about Lorule's dark haired princess, Hilda! She's nothing like Zelda nuh uh nope doesn't even sound similar. I love alternate universes like this.

WHERE IS THIS MERLIN I KEEP HEARING OF
What harm could come from imprisoning a hellinternet beast every night and making it hate humanity and what it stands for?
Then we can release it back into the wild.

Re: The Legend of Zelda
It's an interesting concept though. A Hyrule without a hero that fell into ruin as Hyrule prospered. And now, because of the villain (I'm assuming), now both worlds are at risk.
The glimpses of music and story reminds me a lot of ALttP (duh) and Spirit Tracks, which is definitely a good thing in my books.

Re: The Legend of Zelda
Just saw the new trailer. What ever happened to "And the Master Sword sleeps again...FOREVER!"? Yes, I know it was in the Oracle games, but there it was more like an easter egg, rather than part of the overall story. Zelda's getting kidnapped again, joy. And is that supposed to be a Rule 63 Ganondorf? And the alternate world is called Lorule? Seriously?
Then I heard the ALttP main theme, and now I'm hyped again.
You know what would've actually been an interesting twist, as long as they're going with the female Ganondorf? Having a Prince Link and a heroine named Zelda in the alternate world or something along those lines. Yes, it would be a bit cliche, but I just want to see Zelda take some action outside of the final battle.

My brother got a thing for his birthday. I'm mostly surprised since we already have the Wii U digital version but hey whatever, I'm not complaining.

Re: The Legend of Zelda
Playing through Minish Cap again, and CONFESSION TIME: I don't really like it all that much. The combat feels kind of clunky to me, and being somewhat of a completionist, it drives me bat crap insane that parts of some of the side quests stop becoming available after certain story events take place. I'M LOOKING AT YOU, KINSTONE PIECES. It's not a bad game, but it's probably one of my least favorite Zelda games.

Minish Cap is my favorite of the 2D games but yeah the side quests are kinda ridiculous
I've played through it several times and have never completed everything

Everyone except Destructoid has given LBW a 9/10 or higher.

Re: The Legend of Zelda
You mean like 3/4's of all games get because gaming journalism/reviews are a joke?
Stuff goes here later.
