Re: The Legend of Zelda
You need them to advance the plot
Re: The Legend of Zelda
Anyone know how to get the Mermaid Key or whatever it's called in Oracle of Ages? I can't figure it out for the life of me.
Re: The Legend of Zelda
If I recall you need to go do a bunch of minigames with the gorons
100% Medically Accurate

Re: The Legend of Zelda
I swear to god if I have to beat the dance at the highest level I'm going to kill that goddamn Goron.
Re: The Legend of Zelda
Did anyone else's hero mode boss gauntlet do this to them while they were trying to get the hylian shield?

Re: The Legend of Zelda
To get the Mermaid's Key in the past, you have to beat the dance once. To get it in the present, you have to beat the Big Bang minigame. You know, that one with bombs coming in from EVERYWHERE.Zanoushe wrote:I swear to god if I have to beat the dance at the highest level I'm going to kill that goddamn Goron.

Re: The Legend of Zelda
At any level? That's a relief.
Ahaha who am I kidding I'm so bad at that minigame

Re: The Legend of Zelda
The first two Imprisoned fights are really easy once you realise you can go a level above, jump on his back and wham that prism prison right into his scalp.Cakeifier wrote:Did anyone else's hero mode boss gauntlet do this to them while they were trying to get the hylian shield?

It's real, it's at disneyland, and apparently, it's playable.
Yet to have seen footage though. It'll likely be going to E3 and then to Best Buy though.

Re: The Legend of Zelda
it's not playable but apparently it's being shown?
i'm not clear on if "being shown" means it's just the poster, or if they have a console running some kind of gameplay-rendered video

Re: The Legend of Zelda
All of those posters are actually the sides of kiosks. Not sure what's being shown in the Zelda one though.

It's a way of disguising poor lighting effects due to limited hardware by just having light bleed everywhere.TerraChimaera wrote:Btw what the FUCK is bloom and why do people hate it
It was used a lot last gen, but there's less and less need for it as time goes on. It's a moderation thing.

BLOOOOOOM

Re: The Legend of Zelda
Bloom is a cookie-cutter special effect abused by game developers and animators to add a supposedly more realistic feel to pictures by making them blurry beyond all recognition. When it's done tastefully, it can add an otherworldly feel to a scene, else it makes it laughably ugly. The bloom used in the preview pictures of WWHD are not tasteful at all. The sky glows so much it hides the top of every building and tree in Windfall. This is the opposite of realistic and it looks awful. It's like they smeared grease all over the lens. You can't even distinguish objects in the distance with that ridiculous sky. Compare it to Twilight Princess's bloom, which was much better: only the most illuminated surfaces glow, which actually is realistic if exaggerated. It gave those scenes a certain atmosphere and contributed to the game's nostalgia and the Twilight Realm's unsettling alien vibe. WWHD's bloom says "hurr durr hd means desaturate+lens flares+bloom there you go" and adds nothing to the game.TerraChimaera wrote:Btw what the FUCK is bloom and why do people hate it
