"Go back to ALTTP", they said. "We'll LOVE it", they said.

Well as far as the graphics go they should go with a different style. The 2D designs work well in 2D. in three-dimensional environments they're quite hideous.

I like what I've seen. I'm hoping the drawing version of Link has to battle other drawings and solve chalk puzzles. Sort of like a game within the game.

Re: The Legend of Zelda
This seems neat, but I'm not too enthused about the fact that it seems to be retreading ground in old places. The areas shown look like they were pretty much ripped out of the original, with the Tower of Hera being the dungeon featured. There's definitely changes, but it seems like going back through a slightly altered version of the game.
Also, Moldorm being back? I'm not sure if I like reusing the bosses unless there's a spin to them or something.
I kinda like what I see, but I'm a bit apprehensive about what they've shown.

It's a known rule in the Zelda fandom that no one is ever allowed to be pleased with anything everOperation Awesome wrote:There is absolutely no pleasing the Zelda fanbase, I have finally come to realize.Prof. Winchester wrote:Wow this seems really disappointing

But yeah it seems like this is a step backwards, and considering that the last few Zelda handhelds weren't very good, I don't have high hopes with this one either

We'll give Link PANK hair and have his shield always face Death Mountain. Will the fans like it then?

Only if he's always left-handed.
And if the game is at least as good as Skyward Sword, because that will be the new fan favorite by the time this game comes out.

As a lover of Link to the Past I was fucking ecstatic seeing this
Then I realised
They're finally running out of ideas
"I'VE GOT IT"
"WHAT"
"AT THE SAME TIME WE RELEASE AN HD REMAKE OF WIND WAKER WE'LL RELEASE A SEQUEL TO LINK TO THE PAST"
"WOW THAT IS THE BEST IDEA EVER"
I'm still buying it launch day tho

Laugh at the largeness of the Moldorm Boss Arena.
Until you have to fight it. And realize it can bloody launch you down the arena.
Every.
BLOODY.
TIME.

What harm could come from imprisoning a hellinternet beast every night and making it hate humanity and what it stands for?
Then we can release it back into the wild.

Not really. The downside of Zelda games being so different is that when something works and gels really well with you, you're not likely to see the same kind of gameplay again.TerraChimaera wrote:As a lover of Link to the Past I was fucking ecstatic seeing this

And considering these are two of Miyamoto's favorite games (and WW suffered from being a bit rushed), it's nice to see him continue work on something he loves (and that fans also enjoy).
Though, I guess if people don't like ALttP, more of it isn't going to make them pop flyin', but who knows.

Re: The Legend of Zelda
A mediocre Zelda game is better than 90 percent of everything else.
