Wow...... what was that?

It sounds familiar.
WHERE IS THIS MERLIN I KEEP HEARING OF

What harm could come from imprisoning a hellinternet beast every night and making it hate humanity and what it stands for?
Then we can release it back into the wild.

It's Grandma from Wind Waker.

It plays when you go to get the shield from your house to set off on your journey and again when your Grandma is sick.

... Oh wow. I remember it now.

Geezum, that was an excellent choice of piano music. Say, didnt he do alot of the melody work for alot of Nintendo's other famous pieces?
I always wonder where the music itself got its inspiration. I knew Miyamoto used to go cave exploring when he was younger and thats what started legend of Zelda, but what exactly is Kojis inspiration for alot of the music hes made? I mean, was it based off of other tunes, or other stories?

From what I've heard, most of his inspiration comes from defining the guidelines for what he needs to make, and working from there. With the Super Mario Bros. Theme, he created it with the intent that the song be short enough to not take up much space on the cart, but also not get boring when it loops endlessly. In Ocarina of time, he created the Hyrule Field theme with the idea that the music is "random" and thus not repetitive. He achieved this by making numerous small "sections" of music that could be played in any order, and some themes could be brought up only in certain instances (like the segments that play when you approach a peahat).

Other than that, I don't know what inspires the music besides the practicality of it. He's definitely one of the biggest names in gaming music and it'd be interesting to get inside his head and see how he works at times.

Hey dudes! Still kinda new around here, so excuse my noobiness.
I browsing for video from the London Zelda Orchestra, and I found this piece of awesomeness, a orchestra-sounding version of the Final Hours in Majora's mask!
So since we're on the topic of the orchestrated music I thought you guys might want to check it out. Because it is made of fucking awesome epicosity. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5lB8Vf5ap8Q
And before you ask, I don't think it's official though and obviously not from the concert. (sorry)

Ive heard that one before. I never finished Majoras Mask because the moon on the third day ended up scaring the crap out of me.

I actually remember alot of things scared me in that game. The moon, the timer, the Great Bay Dungeon, The aliens that attack the ranch at night...
8===D Definitely a test of courage.

Aaaw, really? Shame, the ending was epic. Though, I have to agree I always found the game surprisingly dark at the best of times, and sometimes there was some really unsettling shit and it was also pretty much depressing the whole way through.
Although, I never understood why every Zelda fan is so scared of the moon. It does look just plain creepy but also kind of amusing... I mean, it looks like it's constipated!
I wasn't really scared of the Great Bay temple though, and the while the aliens were kind of bizarre I found them funny. :D
You should pick it up the game when your feeling brave though, I only got it last year and beat it a few months ago but I loved it.

The aliens were the only part that really scared me, mostly because of the consequences.

Which is weird, considering your failure can lead to the moon destroying everything you've ever known... but for some reason Romani's abduction hit particularly hard.
Oh man, that part was particularly fucked up. I felt so guilty after letting Romani get abducted
And yeah, while the moon doesn't look frightening, it hitting Termina and killing everything you know and love is just... :psyduck:

You want to know what part of Majora's Mask will make you really, really sad? Do the entire Kafei quest, but forget to give Anju the pendant. Yeah.

Oh god, I KNOW EXACTLY what you're talking about. I saw a youtube video of that scene where Kafie is left alone in the inn, and I was almost crying. That was probably the most soul-chrushingly, horribly depressing thing I have ever seen in a video game ever. And the worst part is, he totally blames himself.
